Heavy exchange of fire is going on as Militants attack at Ban Toll Plaza, On Jammu- Srinagar National Highway around 25 KM from Jammu, they were 5 in numbers, travelling in a truck.

one militant killed so far and one J&K Police Jawan injured.

Operation going on

Driver of the Truck in which Militant were traveling, Mohd Maqbool Arrested/taken into custody by the Security Forces – One militant arrested alive.

The incident took place at around 5.30 a.m., when a police team was randomly checking vehicles near Ban toll post on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway and intercepted a truck.

The militants who were inside the truck fired at the police, injuring one policeman. The police retaliated and shot dead one militant.

The other militants said to be in a group of 5-6 ran towards the forest area and search operation was launched to track down the militants.

DC Udhampur ordered all schools in Udhampur town/ Tikri/Mand/ National Highway-Zones/ Chenani area and also classrooms of degree college Boys/Girls Udhampur shall remain closed for today.
