The Primary Schools of Delhi will remain closed till 31 March
The primary classes of the schools in Delhi will remain closed till March 31. This step has been taken to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus among the children. This has been announced by the Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia on Thursday.
The elaborate guidelines have been issued by the Directorate of Education, regarding the preventive measures for coronavirus. As the students of nursery and primary classes are too young to understand the risk, the measure has been taken to prevent them from the infectious disease.
Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi who also holds the education portfolio said that as a precautionary measure to prevent the possibility of spread of COVID-19 amongst the children, Delhi Government has directed the immediate closure of all the primary schools till 31/3/20. However the students of classes other than primary will continue to come to schools and examination centers for writing their exams as per the schedule. The staff will also attend regular school.
Currently, there are 31 cases of coronavirus, including 16 Italian tourists in the country. Though the school in the NCR, have sent out the advisories to the parents and suggested that they do not send their wards to attend classes even in case of mild cough or cold. They also have said that they may declare holidays if the need arises.
