United Sikhs help victims of Riots prone areas in New Delhi

UNITED SIKHS reaches out to the victims of violence in New Delhi

According to a press release on March 02, 2020, more than 200 people were injured and approximately 40 and more people have been declared dead in the violence that took place at the various places in New Delhi recently, between the protestors and supporters of the Citizens Amendment Act (CAA). The crowd went violent and injured whosoever they could reach, with weapons, lathis, petrol bombs, etc. Along with this, they looted, burnt houses, and vehicles and whatever came in their way. Even the temples and places of worship were not spared. 

UNITED SIKHS team stood beside the victims of riots and extended an unqualified support to the victims and continues to do so, since day one. The team visited GTB Hospital, Dilshad Garden, New Delhi and heard about the problems they are facing and their immediate needs.

“The immensity of the violence can be judged with the condition of the injured. Just a difference of opinion has given birth to differences within citizens of the country. People are ready to kill each other and this is not a healthy sign. We need to believe that we are children of one God.” – S. Pritam Singh, Director UNITED SIKHS   

The Team UNITED SIKHS led by S.Pritam Singh and S.Parvinder visited Chamanpark, Shaktipark, Bapu Nagar, Shiv Vihar, which are the few amongst various places where the violence took place, according to the needs enunciated by the victims of the violence. It has been seen that the prices of the milk and water had risen, the team distributed kits which contains milk, biscuits, bread, and various eatables to the victims and their families.

“Sikhism teaches us to love everyone irrespective of different thoughts and process of worship one believes in. We, the UNITED SIKHS team have been supporting the victims and the injured and are serving them irrespective of whichever group they belong to. I, on behalf of my team, appeal to the citizens of my country to love each other and stay united.” -Says S. Parminder Singh, Volunteer UNITED SIKHS.
