A circular has been released by the Chandigarh’s Education Department that all the government and private schools whether it is aided or non-aided will remain closed until March 31 amid rising coronavirus cases in the country. But the examinations will go on according to the schedule.
The circular says, “Students will attend the school only to take/appear in the Board Examination, Annual Examination and Assessment Examination, etc. during March 2020 as per the previous schedule.” However, all teaching and non-teaching staff members will attend the school as usual until further orders. It has been also instructed to the parents that they should ask their children to avoid crowds or large gatherings during this period. It has been also advised that students should check the official notice from time to time. The decision came after Chandigarh Parent Association had written to UT Home Secretary asking the administration close schools.
Although there is no case in the city so far, there is a confirmed covid-19 positive case in the state, that is why the government has took the action.
