Recovery rate of State reached at 81 percent
Chandigarh, September 29:
Encouraging people to come forward for corona test & get treatment in home isolation for COVID-19, the Punjab Government has made Home isolation very simple by allowing elderly and persons with co morbidities to opt for home isolation as per Medical protocol. Around 47,502 patients have been recovered till date and 10,006 are in home isolation in Punjab.
Disclosing this here today, the Health Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the state Punjab is doing well to control the spreading coronavirus as the recovery rate has reached at 81 percent. There has been a steady decline of cases from 19 Sep when cases were 2696 to 1411 on 21 Sep, 1711 on 24 Sep and 1269 on 28 Sep and 1100 on 29 Sep.
He said that people are now sincerely following the guidelines of Punjab Government and they are willingly reached testing corners of Govt. hospitals. He said that the maximum number of Panchayats have also passed resolutions in support of Government policy and strategy and undertook to get tested. When requested by the Department of Health, they have extended support to Medical Teams visiting their villages for screening and testing.
To ensure easy and hassle-free sampling, walk-in testing corners have been established in all Government Health Facilities and it has been instructed that waiting period for anyone coming for testing should not be more than 15 minutes said Mr. Sidhu.
The Minister stated that so far 18,10,086 corona tests conducted in State so far and only 16,824 cases are active at present.
