Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur takes stock of situation arisen due to COVID-19

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur held a video conference with all the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of the State from Shimla today to take stock of the situation arisen due to the outbreak of Corona pandemic in the country as well as the State.

He directed the officers to keep a close watch on persons of Nijamuddin Tablighi Jamaat due to which figure of coronavirus was increasing sharply in the country. He said we need to focus on persons with any travel history and identify them at the earliest so that coronavirus does not pass on to other persons. He said that they should be kept for home quarantine or isolation.   He said that the elected representatives of PRIs and Urban Local Bodies must be involved to identify those persons in their respective areas who have traveling history from outside the State or even within the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that an Active Case Finding Campaign (ACFC) had been launched in the State under which 8000 teams had been constituted to take information regarding symptoms of COVID-19 from the people. He said that under this campaign teams will be visiting house to house of the villages to seek health information of every person and share it with the health department through Google form.

Chief Minister directed the officers that it must be ensured that ACF teams were provided safety equipment, masks, and gloves so that they could perform their duties efficiently and without any fear. He said that if the issue of Tablighi Jamaat was not figured, there was no case of coronavirus in the State. He said the lady admitted to Tanda Medical College for coronavirus recently has now been found negative.

Jai Ram Thakur said that as many as 4038 persons had been kept under surveillance for coronavirus in the State so far out of which 1655 people had completed 28 days of surveillance period. He said that investigations of 29 persons for COVID-19 had been done today out of which 23 samples from Tanda Medical College were found negative and a report of six samples collected in IGMC Shimla had also been found negative.  He said that 296 persons had so far been investigated in the State for coronavirus and total of six cases had been found positive till now.

Chief Secretary Anil Khachi, Director General of Police S.R. Mardi, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Manoj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary Health R.D. Dhiman and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sanjay Kundu also attended the meeting.
