A grand memorial is being constructed in Ambala city to perpetuate the memory of the fighters who sacrificed their lives in 1857 revolution and to salute the brave martyrs.
- Chandigarh, February16: A grand memorial is being constructed in Ambala city to perpetuate the memory of the fighters who sacrificed their lives in 1857 revolution and to salute the brave martyrs.
- The Haryana government will spend an amount of Rs 300 crore on the construction of this monument which will be built on 22 acres of land. The people can donate items related to 1857 revolution which will be kept at this war memorial. These items will be displayed in the gallery along with the concerned person’s name and address.
- While giving detailed information in this regard, a spokesman of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department said that if any person has any item related to the revolution of 1857 as the heritage of their ancestors such as rifle, gun, pistol, gun bullet (Muscat Cartridge), uniform, sword, knife, badge, medal, documents, postal stamp issued on the revolution of 1857, letter or correspondence, original newspaper, painting of that period, a map or any other item related to the revolution of 1857, can be given to the Haryana government for maintaining as heritage.
- The spokesperson said that if the given item, documents or other things are found to be authentic, they will be displayed in the gallery along with the name and address of the person given and will be preserved with full respect.
