- Chandigarh, July 9 – Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, Haryana, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal said that under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Renewal scheme, it should be ensured that drinking water connections should reach every household and as per the target given by the government, these works should be completed at the earliest.
- Sh. Rajpal was taking a review meeting to review the progress of schemes related to various departments in Palwal. He said that the development works related to drinking water supply and sewerage should be completed soon in urban areas under the Amrut scheme and the quality of these works should also be checked. Apart from this, he directed the officials of the Agriculture Department that the sowing season is still on and under this scheme, more and more farmers should be encouraged to sow other crops as an alternative to paddy. He said that Kisan Mela or Kisan Goshthi should be organized to make farmers aware about new techniques and to save water in farming activities. The work of cleaning the Gurgaon drain should be done through MGNREGA. Regarding Jal Shakti Abhiyan, he directed that maximum water harvesting activities should be done to maintain the ground water level in the district. The ponds located in the villages of the district should be cleaned and made attractive. More and more trees and plants should be planted in the district and water harvesting and borewell system should also be kept active.
- During the meeting, he was informed that about 63 percent work has been completed so far in Palwal under the Amrut scheme. Under the Renewal scheme, works related to drinking water supply are being done in 84 villages.
- Senior officers of various departments including Deputy Commissioner, Palwal, Sh. Naresh Kumar were present during the meeting.
