Chief Secretary chairs State Level Empowered Committee constituted for PMJVK

Approves 53 projects worth Rs.113 crore for 15 blocks of seven minority districts

Directs officers concerned to ensure speedy implementation of all these projects to ensure holistic development of these districts

Chandigarh, March 28: As many as 53 projects worth Rs.113 crore of Health, Education, Skill Development, etc were approved by the State Level Empowered Committee constituted for Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) chaired by Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal. These projects will be executed in 15 blocks of seven minority districts namely Fatehabad, Nuh, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Sirsa, Palwal and Yamunanagar, identified under PMJVK.

While presiding over the meeting of the State Level Empowered Committee constituted for PMJVK held here today, Sh. Kaushal directed the officers concerned to ensure implementation of all these projects at the earliest, as this scheme focuses on reducing socio-economic imbalances among notified minority communities by creating the required infrastructure for their holistic development.

Rs. 10.79 crore to be spent on 6 projects in Fatehabad

The Chief Secretary was apprised that an amount of Rs. 10.79 crore will be spent on six projects in two blocks namely Ratia and Jakhal. These include 14 tinkering labs, 11 multipurpose halls in Government schools and the construction of two Community Managed Training Centres (CMTCs) of these blocks.

Rs. 47 crore to be spent on 14 projects in Nuh

It was informed that an amount of Rs. 47.40 crore will be spent on 14 projects in four blocks namely Nuh, Ferozepur Jhirka, Nagina and Punhana. These include construction of five Primary Health Centers, two Community Health Centers, one Government Senior Secondary School, 48 Staff quarters in Government Senior Secondary Schools and four CMTCs in each block.

Rs. 12.66 crore to be spent on 5 projects in Kaithal

The Chief Secretary was apprised that an amount of Rs. 12.66 crore will be spent on five projects in two blocks namely Guhla and Sewan.  These include construction of two mini auditoriums in Government Senior Secondary Schools and two CMTCs for Self HELP Groups (SHGs) in each block.  Besides this, an old age home would also be constructed in Cheeka.

An amount of Rs. 5 crore to be spent on 2 projects in Kurukshetra

It was informed that an amount of Rs. 5.32 crore will be spent on two projects in the Pehowa block. These include construction of one CMTC, a skill development centre building along with the purchase of machinery and equipment and furniture, etc for training Centre.

Rs. 28 crore to be spent on 16 projects in Sirsa

The Chief Secretary was apprised that an amount of Rs. 28 crore will be spent on 16 projects in four blocks namely Baraguda, Dabwali, Ellenabad and Odhan. These include construction of 144 additional classrooms in Government Schools, four CMTCs for Self Help Groups, two PHCs and one CHC. Besides this, the construction of 20 bedded mother and child wing in civil hospital Ellenabad has also been approved.

Rs. 4.87 crore to be spent on 5 projects in Palwal

The Chief Secretary was apprised that an amount of Rs. 4.87 crore will be spent on five projects in the Hathin block. These include construction of CMTCs for SHGs, boundary walls in 30 Government schools, water harvesting systems in 12 Government schools. Besides this, construction of six girls’ and three boys’ toilets in Government schools has also been approved in the meeting.

Rs. 4 crore to be spent on 5 projects in Yamunanagar

It was informed that an amount of Rs. 4 crore will be spent on five projects in the Chhachhrauli block. These include construction of residential buildings for Doctors, in CHC, Khizrabad, multi-specialty hall, 11 Anganwari Centres, Auditorium Bhawan and CMTC for SHGs women. These projects will now be sent to the Ministry of Minority Affairs for final approval.

Additional Chief Secretary, Development and  Panchayats Department, Sh. Amit Jha, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Department, Sh. Vineet Garg,  Principal Secretary,  Haryana, Skill Development and Industrial Training Department, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, General Administration Department, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar and Director General, Development and  Panchayats Department, Sh. R.C Bidhan attended the meeting.  While MP, Smt. Sunita Duggal,  Deputy Commissioner of the above mentioned seven districts and non-official members of the Committee also attended the meeting through video conferencing.
