It is mandatory to take no objection certificate for extraction of groundwater in Haryana

Chandigarh, November 26– Chairperson, Haryana Water Resources Authority (HWRA), Smt. Keshni Anand Arora today directed all the industrial units of the state to obtain NOC at the earliest for extraction of ground water and said that the authority is concerned about the depleting ground water level in the state. HWRA is working on a comprehensive plan to get rid of the problem, and all industrial units should ensure their participation in this, and should apply for no-objection certificate to extract ground water. The last date to apply is November 30, 2021.

Presiding over the workshop of HWRA today, Smt. Arora asked the representatives of industrial units connected through VC to ensure maximum utilization of waste water from their industrial units. On this occasion, members of HWRA, Sh. DPS Beniwal, Sh. MS Lamba and Sh. Sanjay Marwaha were also present. She informed that earlier in the state no-objection certificates for ground water extraction were issued by the Central Ground Water Board, now No Objection Certificate will be issued by the HWRA.

Smt. Arora said that this workshop will be organized to redress the problems faced by the industrialists of the state in obtaining NOC for extraction of ground water and to explain this process properly and give instructions related to the process of extracting of ground water. She said that the last date to apply for No Objection Certificate is November 30, 2021.

Applicants can apply online through the authority’s portal www.hwra.org.in. She said that till date No Objection Certificates have been issued to 200 applicants across the state. She also informed that the applications which were already with CGWB would be given priority by the authority.

Applicants can get information related to any kind of problem by calling the numbers 9888490854 and 0172-2992941 issued by the authority. For resolving any technical issue related to this, help can be taken from the Chief Technical Officer of the Authority on every working day between 11:00 am to 12:00 am and in addition emails can also be sent to grievances.hwra@gmail.com.

Smt. Arora informed that this workshop is being organized for three days for different districts of the state. Industrial units of Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat and officers of HSIIDC participated in today’s online event and their problems were redressed by the consultants of the Authority and necessary guidelines were given.
