Chief Minister inspects airport runway extension works
Directs Civil Aviation Department and Administrative Officers to expedite development works

Chandigarh, October 26:  Haryana Chief Minister, Sh.  Manohar Lal while reviewing the work of second phase of Maharaja Agrasen Airport has directed the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that all the work related to the airport is completed within the stipulated time frame.

While chairing a review meeting of the officers of the civil aviation department and administrative officers at the airport on Tuesday, the Chief Minister also reviewed department-wise progress of various ongoing works.

In the meeting, Divisional Commissioner, Sh. Chander Shekhar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Priyanka Soni and officials of the Civil Aviation Department apprised the Chief Minister about the progress of the works done so far.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister also inspected the runway extension works near Talwandi Marg and gave necessary directions to the officers of the Civil Aviation Department.

Captain Rajesh Pratap Singh, Senior Member, Joint Working Group, Integrated Aviation Hub, apprised the Chief Minister that further action is being taken after completing all the formalities required for the expansion of the runway and other construction works.

The Chief Minister was apprised about various other works going on including shifting of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam high tension power line, setting up of 33 KW sub-station on 2 acres of airport land, construction of alternate route from Barwala road, observation home shifting, cat lighting works, shifting of the water supply channel and terminal. Work is being done at an accelerated pace to complete other projects including building boundary wall on time etc.

On this occasion, Mayor, Sh. Gautam Sardana, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Ashok Kumar Garg, DIG Balwan Singh Rana, Administrator, HSVP, Sh. Rajesh Jogpal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Swapnil Ravindra Patil and officials of concerned departments remained present.
