Tap water supply in every household in Haryana

According to the Economic Survey report, in the financial year 2021-22, Haryana has achieved the coveted status of 100 percent households with tap water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Although this target was to be completed by 2024, but with the visionary thinking of the Chief Minister, Haryana Government decided to complete this target by 2022. Now the next target of the government is to provide 55 liters of clean drinking water per person in the entire Haryana by December 2022. Haryana Government has made available the facility of toll free number 1800 180 5678 with UMANG and SARAL app for quick disposal of water related problems like new connection, water supply and complaints regarding quality.

Jal Jeevan Mission was started in 2019

It may be mentioned that the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), launched in August 2019, envisions providing adequate safe drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households in rural India by the year 2024. In the year 2019, out of about 18.93 crore households in rural areas, about 3.23 crore (17 per cent) rural households had tap water connections. As of January 2, 2022, a total of 5,51,93,885 households were provided with tap water supply since the inception of the mission. 6 States/UTs including Haryana have achieved the coveted status of 100% households with tap water supply.
