Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal interacted with the students of Haryana who are studying overseas in the leading University under the ‘Berkeley India Speaker Series Event’ programme here today in Chandigarh through video conferencing.

  • Chandigarh, November 1: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal interacted with the students of Haryana who are studying overseas in the leading University under the ‘Berkeley India Speaker Series Event’ programme here today in Chandigarh through video conferencing.
  • Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana is the only state which has a dedicated Foreign Cooperation Department which is strenuously exploring the opportunities globally that can accelerate the growth of Haryana. He added that many good Universities which are expanding their campuses in Haryana and many foreign Universities have signed MOUs and started other semester exchange programmes with the Government Universities which have enhanced the global exposure of the Haryana Students and promoted cultural diversity.
  • During the dialogue exchange programme many students asked questions on contribution of present Government in Development of Haryana as an Industrial hub to which Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal replied that Haryana has emerged as an industrial hub as all major companies have their base in Haryana. The industry friendly policies have motivated many MNCs and Industrial Units to set up their business and explansion plans in Haryana, which has boosted employment opportunities for the youth of Haryana.
  • In response to another question on women safety and air pollution  he said that our government is very sensitive on the issue of women safety. He added that women police stations have been set up in each district of Haryana. Through Durga Shakti App women in need can be approached in less than 15 minutes. He added that Haryana is only state which has the provision of capital punishment for any heinous crime against women specially below the age of 12 years. This initiative has been appreciated by other state governments as well. He said that our government believes in equality in jobs and education. Educational Institutions, colleges and women collages are located every 20 kms  in Haryana while ensuring adequate transportation for students to reach colleges safely. We are working towards opening more women colleges so that girl students can continue their higher education near their place. We have made provision of 50% reservation for  women representatives in elections. On the issue of Air pollution he further added that stabble burning is completely banned in Haryana. Going one more step further we are assuring that crop residue are converted and utilised in the industrial units to curb the air pollution which has significantly improved air quality index in Haryana.
  • In a response to another question on Saral Portal and its implications, Sh. Manohar Lal said that we have broadly analysed various issues to curb corruption and reduce human interaction while availing Government services. CSC Atal Seva Kendra has been set up through which people are getting all Government welfare services at ease. Auto Appeal System (AAS) has been launched with which monitoring of Government services can be traced. In order to impart effective services to the people the request for any service can be challenged upto three channels as a result of which Government Departments are actively working now and applicants get prompt response about the service they are availing. We are working more and more towards strengthening and expanding the system at every level, he added.
  • In another response to a question on Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) Sh. Manohar Lal, said that 65 lakh families have been registered with PPP. Now for availing all welfare services PPP will be mandatory. This auto system is helpful in availing all services at ease and will fetch all information while filling any form for availing welfare services.
  • In another response to a question on Antyodaya Utthan Yojana, Sh. Manohar Lal said that we are committed for the upliftment of every last person standing in the queue. Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana is a strenuous efforts towards raising the BPL family income to Rs. 1.80 lakh per annum. While registering on the portal, Government will ensure that atleast one member of the family has a monthly income of Rs. 15,000/-. For this portal registeration has been started and with the joint efforts of all departments we are identifying such families and ensuring that they avail benefits under their eligible domain.
  • The students extended their gratitude towards Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and appreciated the state Government’s work in all spheres. They also invited him to visit their Universities for another interactive programme.
