- Chandigarh, February 26: In view of Khelo India Youth Games -2021 to be held in Haryana, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal met with officers of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Sports Authority of India.
- On this occasion, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Sh. Yogendra Chaudhary, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Brar and other officers were present.
- In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that Khelo India Youth Games -2021 is a very prestigious competition. For this, the best arrangements will be made by the Haryana Government, he assured.
- While giving a presentation related to Khelo India to the Chief Minister, a team of officers from the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Sports Authority of India apprised that the respective managers of the Games inspected their respective venues as well as the infrastructure and equipment available.
- A meeting of Competition Managers and Competetion Incharges was also held in regard to preparations for the games in Panchkula.
- Director General, Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Sh. SS Phulia said that all the lists related to sports grounds were exchanged during the meeting and the improvements made in the sports grounds and their suggestions were also discussed. He said that there will be a total of 25 sports competitions including five indigenous games in the Khelo India competitions. Around 5000 youth will participate in the under-18 category of the sports competition, he added.
