Directs officers concerned to ensure the best arrangements at the places he inspected

Chandigarh, April 4: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal on Monday conducted a surprise inspection at Wellness Centres in Kharkali and Sataundi villages, Yogshala at Rasin village and Government Model Sanskriti School of Gharaunda Assembly Constituency and took stock of the arrangements.

While interacting with the villagers, the Chief Minister said that in a bid to provide better health facilities to the people of the State, the State Government has set up Wellness Centres, Yogshalas at the village level. The institutions where the requirement of yoga teachers and dieticians is required will soon be completed so that they can stay healthy by attending yoga and meditation classes in these Centres.

The Chief Minister directed Deputy Commissioner, Sh.  Anish Yadav to ensure modern facilities in these Wellness Centres and Yogshalas being run at Kharkali, Sataundi and Rasin villages of Gharaunda Assembly Constituency.

He further directed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare such a proposal in which more focus should be given to providing yoga and meditation classes to the people so as to improve their physical and mental health.

The Chief Minister also interacted with the youth and asked them to join sports and prepare a playground in the village Yogshala for playing Kabaddi, which is considered the main sport.

He exhorted the youth to stay away from drugs and shift their interest in sports as sports activities inculcate a sense of discipline among the youth. He also requested the elders to guide them properly and play their role in the all-around development of the society by taking the promising youth forward.

Later, the Chief Minister also conducted a surprise inspection at Government Model Sanskriti School, Gharaunda and took information from the District Education Officer and Principal of the school, Inderjit Kalia, about the school arrangements and the students.

Talking to the media after the inspection, the Chief Minister said that there is a competition among the students to get enrolled in the Model Sanskriti Schools. Now arrangements have been made in these schools for providing the best education even as compared to the private schools, he added.

So far 138 Model Sanskriti Schools have been opened in the state and plans will be made to expand these schools in the future also. Along with studying on the digital board in these schools, similar facilities of private and CBSE schools are being made available in these schools as well, informed the Chief Minister.

In view of all these facilities, about 2.5 lakh children have been enrolled in the Model Sanskriti Schools being run across the State and this number is increasing continuously, added Sh. Manohar Lal.

Responding to another question, he said that as many as 650 Yogshalas have been opened in the state, in a bid to provide better health facilities to the common man. Now the State Government is soon going to recruit around 1000 yoga teachers.
