Vocational training to youth as per the demand of foreign countries

Chandigarh, February 23 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that under the New Education Policy, the main objective of the government is to provide good education at low-cost and to establish quality infrastructure in all educational institutions.

The Chief Minister was presiding over the pre-budget consultation meeting of school education, higher education, technical education and skill development today.  Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal was also present in this meeting.

The Chief Minister said that the New Education Policy has to be implemented in the state by the year 2025 and the government is working for enhancing culture along with personality development, especially from Classes III to post-graduation.  He said that the subject of skill development would be compulsory from Class 9th to 12th so that youth of the state could be self-employed and are imparted education which ensures job placement.

The Chief Minister said that from the coming session, it has been decided to give tablets to the students of Class 10th to 12th. This decision will be effective in taking online education for the students.  He said that creation of voluntary funds at school and college level is also being considered so that manpower can be deployed in these educational institutions for some time as per the requirement.  Apart from this, it is being considered to set up an engineering wing for the maintenance of these institutions.

The Chief Minister said that MoU would be signed with private schools for all round development of government schools.  This will increase the standard of education in government schools.  He said that the government has decided not to take board examinations of classes 5th and 8th.  For this, it is not mandatory for the students to register for the board exam.

The Chief Minister said that youth should be identified for vocational training as per the demand of foreign countries at the international level.  Along with this, efforts should be made to teach foreign languages as well. This will increase employment opportunities for youth in foreign countries as well.

The Chief Minister took suggestions of eminent representatives of private and government institutions working in the field of school education, higher education, technical education and skill development through video conference. He said that they can also send their suggestions in writing. Good suggestions will be included in the budget.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretaries, Sh. TVSN Prasad, Dr. Mahavir Singh, Sh Anand Mohan Sharan, Principal Secretary, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal along with  other senior officers were also present.
