  • Representatives thank Chief Minister for transferring direct payments in the accounts of the farmers during this Kharif Season
  • Chandigarh, June 22: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while meeting representatives of farmers’ organizations here today said that a group of 30-40 farmers having factual knowledge about farm laws should be constituted to spread the awareness among their peer groups in each village.
  • “Rather than agitating against the farm laws, every farmer should be well versed about the benefits of these laws so that those who are trying to spread misinformation and mislead them should fail to attain their vested interests”, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
  • He also suggested that if needed, training of the farmers to get ample knowledge about these farm laws should be done so that the farmers after getting well versed about these farm laws can further spread awareness about the benefits of these laws and ensure that they are not misled by anyone.
  • The delegation led by Bharatiya Kisan Union Haryana State leader Sh. Guni Prakash submitted a letter of support to Chief Minister on the farm laws and said that from day one the real farmers are in favour of these legislations, while the so-called farmers have given a political colour to this peaceful movement and the real farmers like us are bearing the brunt. Those agitating on Delhi Borders are Political representatives, he said.
  • Sh Udhay Bhan, General Secretary Bharatiya Kisan Union said,” The opposition especially Congress is playing politics with the lives of the farmers to further their politically vested interests. Those who are real farmers are in support of these farm laws.” The delegation included farmers from various districts including Kaithal, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal etc.
  • Farmers’ welfare is our utmost priority, says Chief Minister
  • Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government is committed to safeguarding the interest of farmers and farming community and several steps have been taken in this direction.
  • Implementation of ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana’ while understanding the importance of water is among one such steps taken for the benefit of the farmers. He said that the main motto of implementing this scheme is to save underground water for future generations.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister once again clarified that the State Government has never stopped giving tubewell connections rather various steps are being taken to provide adequate water facilities for irrigation purposes to the farmers.
  • “A tubewell connection would be given to any farmer who has tube-well motors of below 15 BHP (brake horsepower) and adopts micro-irrigation. This decision has been taken in a bid to promote micro-irrigation. A subsidy of up to 85 per cent is being provided to the farmers for this” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
  • Farmers will get real freedom through these three laws
  • Sh. Guni Prakash, while thanking the Chief Minister, for taking several initiatives for the welfare of the farmers said that ensuring the welfare of every farmer has always remained the utmost priority of the State Government led by Sh. Manohar Lal.
  •  “From day one, farmers are in favour of these laws as, since 1993, a continuous demand for implementing such a law has been made by the farmers as we know that these three laws would certainly prove to be a major reform in the agriculture sector and would not only liberate the farmers in the real sense to sell their produce anywhere in the country but would also keep the MSP and the Mandi system intact,” said Sh. Guni Prakash.
  • Echoing the same sentiments, Sh. Uday Bhan, a farmer from Rohtak, Sh. Nartak Singh, Ambala and others said that they are spreading awareness about the farm laws.  Besides this, constant efforts are being made to make the farmers understand the benefits of these laws.
