  • Chandigarh, July 7: Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation LTD. (HDDCF)  has been continuously working on various aspects to overhaul VITA brand to increase its visibility and overall sales and and customers will witness paradigm changes in the  product range, quality and packaging of VITA products in the coming months.
  • In this series, a team led by Chairman HDDCF, Sh. Randhir Singh, comprising of Managing Director, Sh. A. Sreenivas (IAS), General Manager, Sh. Sanjay Setia and Project Manager, Sh. Amit Sachdeva visited Gujarat to see the functioning of Amul.
  • The team had   visited milk society in Vaktapur Village and Amul Milk Plant (Asia’s largest milk processing plant) in Gandhinagar.
  • The overall objective of the two days visit was to study the digital intervention in the functioning of milk societies at grass root level to extend maximum benefits to the farmers.
  • Team also interacted with the procurement incharge at Basra Dairy and also with the secretary and farmers of the Vaktapur village in Himatnagar Taluka.
  • It was understood that the farmers are issued procurement slip generated through online system that contains information regarding Fat/SnF, and accordingly  total amount for the milk is calculated which gets credited to the farmer’s bank  account directly.
  • Information is then passed to the Milk Union and Federation office in the real time. This helps milk union and federations to plan processing, production more efficiently.
  • Sh. Randhir Singh, Chairman, HDDCF shared  that HDDCF is also in the process of implementing the similar ERP in the milk societies and milk unions of  Haryana and experience gathered during the visit will help in providing hassle free  platform of milk procurement and payments to the farmers.
  • Putting more focus on strengthening and augmenting the infrastructure, team also visited the Amul, Gandhinagar plant to understand the working of aseptic packaging machine.
  • It will be pertinent to mention that HDDCF has already initiated the process of installing aseptic packaging plant in the Rohtak Milk Union. National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has been entrusted with the task of preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) which has total financial outlay of Rs 125 Crores.
  • Managing Director, Sh. A. Sreenivas said that most of the competitors already have the aseptic packaging facility and this facility will not only increase the shelf-life of the products but will also increase overall sales and profitability of the federation. HDDCF plans to pack sweet/namkeen lassi, sweetened milk, fruit juices etc. using this facility. This will further help in procuring 50, 000 to 70,000 LPD additional milk and extending maximum return to the farmers.
