Government procurement of mustard to start from March 21, 2022, and wheat from April 1, 2022
Farmers will not face any inconvenience in selling their crops, said Sh. Dushyant Chautala
Chandigarh, March 7- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers that this time the procurement of mustard should be started from March 21, 2022 as the arrival of the produce has started as well. Earlier procurement used to start from March 28. He directed to start the procurement of wheat, gram, and barley from April 1, 2022.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of the Food, Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department, chaired a meeting of the officers of the department here today and reviewed the preparations being made for Rabi-2022 crops. Minister of State, Sh. Anoop Dhanak was also present on the occasion.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers to make extensive preparations for the procurement of rabi crops like mustard from March 21, 2022 and wheat, gram, and barley from April 1, 2022 so that farmers do not face any inconvenience in the selling of their crops. He also directed all the Deputy Commissioners to make transportation arrangements and send reports by March 21, 2022 to ensure timely lifting of the crop.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed the officers to update the bank accounts of farmers as per the details of crops uploaded on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal and ensure that the payment for crop procurement is sent directly to their accounts. He also directed the officers to make adequate arrangements for drinking water and other facilities for farmers in grain markets of the state.
The officials apprised the Deputy Chief Minister that the procurement of mustard will be done in 92 mandis, while arrangement for wheat, gram and barley procurement is being made in 397, 11 and 25 mandis respectively. Among these crops, mustard will be purchased at Rs. 5,050 per quintal, wheat at Rs. 2,015 per quintal, gram at Rs. 5,230 per quintal and barley at Rs. 1,635 per quintal by various procurement agencies.
He said that the procurement of wheat would be done by Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, HAFED, Haryana State Warehousing Corporation and Food Corporation of India. Apart from this, gram will be procured by HAFED, mustard will be procured by HAFED and Haryana State Warehousing Corporation and barley will be procured by Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, HAFED and Haryana State Warehousing Corporation Agency.
