Chandigarh, February 24 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that the state government will install ‘Micro ATM’ machines in about 9,500 depots of the state so that the people of the villages can deposit and withdraw money as per their requirement. Not only this, they will also be able to check their balance in the bank through this ‘Micro ATM’.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala gave this information after presiding over the meeting with the officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department today. He also saw a demo of a machine made by a company.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister was accompanied by the Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Sh. Anoop Dhanak, Director General, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, Sh. Vijay Singh Dahiya besides other officers were also present.
The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, said that it is the endeavour of the state government to make such arrangements in the state so that the poor people taking ration through the ration depot can avail the benefit of new system.
By making the payment of your ration through the machine itself, one can also withdraw extra money like from an ATM machine. He said that in the first phase, ‘Micro ATM’ machines will be installed at the depots in Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, Karnal and Panchkula as a pilot project, so that apart from the ration card holders, other people from nearby areas would be able to withdraw and deposit money. He said that this step of the state government will provide convenience to the people, while the depot holders will also get commission in return by helping the bank, which will increase their income.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department has about 9,500 depots in the state through which ration is provided to BPL families at affordable rates. In order to bring more transperancy in this system, the state government had first started the work of distribution of ration through ‘POS’ machine, now people will be able to transfer money at the local level through this facility by installing ‘Micro ATM’ machines through such depots.
He further added that the depot-holders would first be given training to operate the above machines. He said that in the first phase, machines of ‘Micro ATM’ would be installed at depots in five cities, after which they would be made operational in the entire state.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that a major change has been made in the economic, social and political culture of the State by the present State Government. Through equal development, welfare of people and corruption-free transparent system, the people of the state are empowered with new confidence. Today the hopes and aspirations of the people of Haryana are coming to fruition. Multi-dimensional policies have been implemented for the welfare and upliftment of every section of the society and equitable development of every area of the state. The benefits of development are reaching the last person standing in the queue and goals of our Government are getting materialised in the real sense.
