Three percent quota for players will be restored – Deputy Chief Minister
Chandigarh, March 23 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that a three percent quota for sportspersons in category A and B of government jobs in the state will be restored and the 33-feet tall statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh will be installed in Uchana.
The Deputy Chief Minister said this while addressing at the closing ceremony of the marathon race held at Uchana as Chief Guest on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas today.
Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, while addressing a mass gathering gathered in the marathon race, said that the road from village Naguran to Badhana has been named after the Martyr Captain Pawan Kumar. He said that today we are breathing in the open air only because of the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs. The nation will always be indebted to them.
While felicitating the top runners in the marathon, he said that the youth should leave drug addiction and cultivate interest in sports, because there are immense possibilities of making a career in sports. He added that due to the sports policy of the State Government, many sportspersons of the state have exhibited commendable performance at various international sports events and also made the state proud. Due to this sports policy, outstanding sports persons have got government jobs in many departments. He appealed to the youth to participate in sports along with pursuing education.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that thousands of children, youth, elderly, and women participated in this marathon run organized under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and proved that Haryana is progressing rapidly in every field.
Dushyant Chautala said that all possible help would be provided by the state government to the youth who want to move forward in the fields of sports, medicine, education, research, etc. He also said that many welfare schemes are being implemented by the Central and State Governments for the upliftment of every section. People should try to raise their standard of living continuously by taking advantage of such schemes. He also said that special focus is being given by the government for the upliftment of the poor section of the state. For this purpose, Melas are being organized across the State under Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana so that every eligible person can be benefited by availing services of all departments and banks at one place.
Earlier, a 12 km long marathon run was organized from the toll plaza located in village Khatkar of Uchana assembly constituency on Shaheedi Diwas to commemorate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala flagged off the marathon and he himself encouraged the runners by running in the marathon. Labour and Employment Minister, Sh. Anoop Dhanak and MLA, Sh. Amarjeet Dhanda also ran with the youth in the marathon.
Along with youth, children, the elderly and women also participated in the marathon. The runners showed great enthusiasm for the marathon. The scene of the marathon became even more scenic when the runners were showered with flowers through a helicopter. Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Dushyant Chautala paid homage by garlanding the life-size statue of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh in Khatkar village.
