Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the state government is ensuring that the development of both rural and urban areas go hand in hand.
- Chandigarh, June 21- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the state government is ensuring that the development of both rural and urban areas go hand in hand. Thus, the development of half of Sirsa city will be done under the AMRUT scheme and remaining area of the city will be developed by Independently State Funded Programme.
- Deputy Chief Minister said this while interacting with the mediapersons after unveiling an 18-feet tall statue of Former Deputy Prime Minister, Chaudhary Devi Lal at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. The statue has been built using 300 tonnes of metal and two artisans have carved the statue in a time span of one-and-a-half months. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala also paid floral tributes to the statue. Minister of State for Archeology Department, Sh. Anoop Dhanak was also present during this occasion.
- In his address, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the former Deputy Prime Minister, Late Chaudhary Devi Lal was an institution in himself, whose entire political life was devoted for the welfare of the people. This statue of Chaudhary Devi Lal will act as a source of inspiration for the coming generations. While wishing the people of the state on the seventh International Yoga Day, the Deputy Chief Minister said that today Yoga is being celebrated as a festival all across the world. He said that Yoga is an ancient practice of India and has been adopted by the world as they have understood its importance. He said that Sirsa city would get relief from the problem of water logging in next one year. He said that an amount of Rs 28 crore would be spent on these works.
- After unveiling the statue, the Deputy Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for developmental projects worth Rs. 4867.36 lakh regarding road strengthening work to be done by Public Works Department. The work of strengthening these roads will be done under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana.
- He said that a plan has been formulated to re-do three schools and one police station building in Sirsa city on a PPP model. This will create ample parking-cum-commercial space. Similarly, beautification of 52 small and big parks of the city will be done on the lines of Gurugram. Also, in the coming days, computerized street lighting system, based on SCADA will be installed in the city. With the installation of this lightning system there will be no wastage of light and its maintenance can also be done in a better manner. Besides this, there is a provision of informing about electricity related problems within 24 hours in this system.
- The roads for which the Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the strengthening works include Chattargarh Patti to Nejadela road and Subakheda to Kamal-Bhadra-Kurangawali road at a cost of Rs 1275.02 lakh, Village Bijjuwali to Abubshahr Via Munna Wali, Ganga Road, at a cost of Rs 1330.36 lakh, Sawant Kheda to Diwankheda, Khuiyan Malkana, Malikpura, Rampura Bishnoian, Jhukheda at a cost of Rs 1427.86 lakh and work of strengthening of roads from Kewal to Pakkan, Kamal, Kalanwali to Dadu at a cost of Rs. 834.12 lakh.
