Chandigarh, January 6- Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli said that work should be done towards developing the rural areas of the State expeditiously. He said that such plans should be formulated for the development of villages which lay emphasis on fulfilling the basic facilities of the villagers on the lines of cities.

Development and Panchayats Minister was holding a review meeting with the officials of the Development and Panchayats Department on Thursday regarding the progress of the schemes of the Department. He said that the State and Central Government have started many schemes for the welfare of villages and villagers. The implementation of these schemes should be expedited and the budget allocated according to the plan should be utilized properly. The budget should be spent in a planned manner for the development of villages in this financial year. He further said that transparency should be ensured in the schemes and developmental works being carried out for the development of villages. Also, work should be done according to the zero-tolerance policy of the Government and ill practices like corruption should be completely wiped out. He said that under the SVAMITVA Scheme, property cards are being issued in the State for the purpose of giving proper ownership of houses and plots.
