Haryana Government to launch unique Samarpan programme soon
Chandigarh August 10: Haryana Government is all set to launch a unique volunteer programme ‘Samarpan’ soon.
The implementation of this programme will inculcate a sense of working dedicatedly towards society and with this initiative, people will be encouraged to come forward to serve the society selflessly.
The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, shared this while presiding over the review meeting held here today. During the meeting, he gave necessary directions to the officers.
The Chief Minister said that the ‘Samarpan’ programme is a big initiative of the State Government as the programme aims towards building a better society and volunteers involved in this programme will also play an important role in curbing crime through counselling programmes.
Volunteers to register for their interest area
Registration will be done under the ‘Samarpan’ programme. During registration, the volunteers will enter their details as well as the area they are willing to work in. They will also enter this information at the time of applying and also the number of hours the volunteers will be able to work for the ‘Samarpan’ programme per week. Based on the details provided by the volunteers, their services will be rendered as per their interest area.
Focus on the social sector
Chief Minister said that under the ‘Samarpan’ programme the main focus is on the social sector. In view of this, he directed the officers to give special emphasis on the points related to the social sector under this programme. He said that during the registration, many such people will also come forward, who can be good trainers as well. If we engage in the work of imparting moral and theoretical training to such people, then we will be more successful in our objective of this programme, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Volunteer services to be taken in these areas
It was informed during the meeting that the services of volunteers would be taken in the fields of Education, Sports, Skill Development, Agriculture, Environment, Social Audit, Participation in Government Schemes, General Administration and Health etc. Later the number of areas will be increased as per the requirement.
On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D. S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Department, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Sh. Mahavir Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Skill Development and Industrial Training Department, Sh. Raja Sekhar Vundru, Principal Secretary, Forests and Wildlife Department, Smt. G. Anupama, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department, Sh. Yogender Chaudhry, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Smt. Ashima Brar and other Senior officers were present.
