Chandigarh, August 10 – Haryana Government, while giving the gift of Rakshabandhan to sisters, has decided to provide free travel facility to women and children up to 15 years of age this year also so that sisters can visit their brothers’ homes and tie rakhi.

Haryana Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma informed that Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has approved a proposal to this effect.

Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that the department has been providing free travel facility to women and children up to the age of 15 years on the occasion of Rakshabandhan for the last several years. But last year it was not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At present, since there has been a significant decline in the cases of COVID-19, it has been decided to continue this facility.

The Transport Minister said that during this time buses will run with 50 percent capacity and suitable steps will be taken for ensuring safety. Those traveling in the bus will have to take care of other COVID-19 protocols along with wearing face masks.
