Chandigarh, January 17- Haryana Home, Health and AYUSH Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that 75 crore Surya-Namaskar programmes are being organized under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” being celebrated marking the celebrations of 75th Year of Independence Day of India. Asha workers of the Health Department along with the jawans/officers of Haryana Police will also participate in this, he added.
The Home Minister informed that a letter has been written in this regard to the Director General of Police and Mission Director today. Besides this, a letter would also be written to the Chief Secretary for ensuring the participation of other employees of the State Government in the Surya Namaskar programme, said Sh. Anil Vij.
Sh. Vij said that training has been given to the personnel of Education Department and Ayush Department and now police personnel and Asha workers will be included in this, in which they will be given three days training through Yoga-Ayog trainees.
Similarly, he said that, the work of giving virtual training will also be done and the Chairman of Yog Aayog has been directed to create a virtual link so that people can do Surya Namaskar at the scheduled time every day.
So far Haryana is leading in term of registration for the Surya Namaskar programme in North India, Vij
The Ayush Minister shared that Haryana is leading for having maximum registration for Surya Namaskar programme in North India as so far 2350 institutions of the State have got themselves registered, whereas Haryana is second after Maharashtra in the country in terms of maximum registration of institutions for participation in the programme.
Surya Namaskar will be done on a wide scale across the country on January 26 – Vij
The Home Minister said that this programme which began on January 3, will conclude on February 20, 2022 and Surya Namaskar will be done for 21 days.
He said that on the coming January 26, Surya Namaskar would be performed on a wide scale across the country and all CBSE affiliated schools would participate in it. Similarly, the work of making a world record for performing Surya Namaskar will be done on February, 7, 2022 and 75 crore Surya Namaskars will be completed on February 12, 2022 and this programme will conclude on February 20, 2022.

The Home Minister informed that necessary directions have been issued to all concerned officers including DG Police, DG Jail and Commandant General Home Guard under Home Department to ensure maximum participation in 75 crore Surya Namaskar programme by registering on www.75suryanamskar.com. Firstly all the employees of the Home Department are required to get themselves registered on www.75suryanamskar.com.
Secondly, a three-day training of police officers for participating in Surya Namaskar by the yoga instructor should be done so that they can train the master trainer of the police department. The third step is the practice of Surya Namaskar for 21 days.
Chairman, Haryana Yog Aayog, Sh. Jaideep Arya informed that the Ministry of AYUSH has launched 75 crore Surya Namaskar programme on Monday, January 3, 2022, to promote the culture of fitness and a healthy lifestyle through the practice of Yogasanas.
75 crore Surya Namaskar programme is being organized in the country by Patanjali Yogpeeth, Geeta Parivar, Heartfulness Meditation, Kreeda Bharati and National Yogasana Sport Federation. Haryana Yog Aayog is the official organizer of this historic event, he informed.
