Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Art and Cultural Affairs Department and North Zone Cultural Centre

Chandigarh, November 1 – Under the aegis of Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Art and Cultural Affairs Department and North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, 56th Haryana Day was organized in a grand manner with a colorful state level cultural presentation at Haryana Raj Bhavan here today.

Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, Punjab Governor and the Administrator, Union Territory of Chandigarh, Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit, the Orissa Governor, Professor Ganeshi Lal, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and other members of his cabinet were present.

The programme was started by lighting the traditional lamp by Sh. Dattatraya and Sh. Manohar Lal along with other dignitaries. Dedicating the programme to the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the artists enthralled the audience with their performances with Haryanvi, Marathi, Rajasthani, and Kathak dances. Atul Kumar Duve and his troupe started the programme with sanskritik vandana.  After that, Haryanvi artistes Rekha Sharma and her troupe performed songs such as ‘Sathan chaal padi mere dub-dub bhar aaye nain’ from the beginning of marriage ceremony to   farewell.

The Haryana Art and Cultural Affairs Department gave the message of conservation of nature and environment through Kathak. Folk artists of North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala stunned everyone by presenting the famous folk song of Maharashtra ‘Lavani’ with a 9 yard sari.  The famous ‘Kalbelia’ dance artists of Rajasthan presented their theatrical style and dedicated it to the Sapera caste.  In the end, a Haryanvi folk dance was performed, depicting a young woman who cherishes her wedding dream and how she presents the spirit of her marriage.

Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Vijai Vardhan honoured the Punjab Governor, Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit by presenting him a bouquet.  The Principal Secretary, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sh. V Umashankar, honoured Orissa Governor, Professor Ganeshi Lal and Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. TVSN Prasad honoured Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya and Principal Secretary, Art and Cultural Affairs, Dr. D. Suresh honoured Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal with  bouquets.

Ranjit Singh, Cooperation Minister, Dr Banwari Lal, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. OP Yadav, Minister of State for Archeology and Museums, Sh. Anoop Dhanak, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh, MP, Sh. Rattna Lal Kataria, MLA, Sh. Krishna Midha, Advocate General of Haryana, Sh. Baldev Raj Mahajan, former Education Minister, Sh. Ram  Bilas Sharma, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Financial Commissioner Revenue and Additional Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Director General of Police, Sh. PK Agrawal besides other senior administrative officers, Chairmen of Boards and Corporations and other dignitaries were present.
