Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav said that raids are being conducted on illegal drug abuse rehabilitation centers in the state so as to rescue the people falling into the trap of such centers.
- Chandigarh, June 27 – Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav said that raids are being conducted on illegal drug abuse rehabilitation centers in the state so as to rescue the people falling into the trap of such centers. While conducting raids, 37 persons have been rescued from such illegal centers in Panipat district.
- Sh. Yadav informed that a drug de-addiction center was being run illegally in village Binjhol of Panipat district. Information about keeping drug abuse victims in this center was received.
- In this regard, a team was constituted and raid was conducted under the chairmanship of local Additional Deputy Commissioner and 37 drug addicts were rescued and admitted to the civil hospital in Panipat for their treatment. During the raid, the owner of the center could not produce any certificate authenticated by the Haryana Government for running the drug de-addiction center.
- Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said that a case has been registered against this rehab center at model town police station, Panipat.
- Mr. Yadav said that strict action would be initiated against those running such illegal centers without the permission of the Government. At present, about 104 registered drug de-addiction centers are running in the state for the treatment of drug addicts. According to the rules, the operators of these centers have to obtain a certificate from the Government.
