- Chandigarh March 2: Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sh. Sandeep Singh said that the State Government is making continuous efforts to bring river Saraswati to surface and for this, farmers of three villages in Yamunanagar district have decided to give land within the radius of three kilometers of Dadupur Nalvi village to the State Government.
- In this regard, a delegation of farmers from Yamunanagar district met Sh. Sandeep Singh at his residence in Chandigarh today.
- Divulging more details in this regard, the Sports Minister said that the Stream of Saraswati River should flow continuously in Haryana throughout the year and farmers should get its benefits. For this, farmers of three villages, including Sialba, Jhar Chandna and Uncha Chandana have come forward and taken the initiative to give their land to government. While assuring the farmers, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that he would discuss the legitimate demands of farmers with the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.
- The Sports Minister said that the farmers’ faith is strongly connected with the Saraswati River. But this river is not flowing in about three kilometers area of Dadupur Nalvi village. He said that it is a matter of great pride for the government that the farmers have themselves came forward to give their land.
- The Chief Minister also has a vision that the Saraswati River should flow continuously on the surface. He said that if the water of Dadupur-Nalvi canal is connected to the Saraswati River, then the water level in this area will also increase, said Sh. Sandeep Singh.
- The delegation of farmers said that the flow of Saraswati River was being obstructed on nearly 60 acres of land because of the absence of a link channel to be constructed on the land of these three villages of Yamunanagar. Therefore, the farmers have shown interest in giving their land and this area of Dadupur Nalvi canal will be connected to the Saraswati River and now there will be no obstruction in the flow of the Saraswati River.
- Farmers said that to ensure the availability of water to their upcoming generations, they are ready for any kind of sacrifice. With the flow of the Saraswati River coming to the surface, the water shortage problem in their area along with other districts of Haryana will be resolved, said the delegation.
