Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Inspector Jaiveer posted as SHO police station Cheeka on the charges of seeking bribe from a person seeking disposal of the complaint pending against him.
SHO seeking bribe arrested by Vigilance Bureau
Chandigarh, Feb 3– Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Inspector Jaiveer posted as SHO police station Cheeka on the charges of seeking bribe from a person seeking disposal of the complaint pending against him.
Sharing the details, a spokesperson of the Bureau informed that Chand Ram, a resident of Cheeka district Kaithal, filed a complaint against the accused police officer demanding bribe of Rs 5000 in lieu of disposing of a case, which is pending against him in Cheeka police station.
Acting on the complaint, a team of the Vigilance bureau conducted a raid and nabbed the police officer in the presence of duty magistrate and shadow witness.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the accused officer in the Bureau’s Ambala police station. A thorough investigation of the case is underway.
