- Chandigarh, July 5 – Haryana’s Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, (DITECH) was awarded IMC Digital Technology Awards 2020 for ‘State Award for Citizen Centric IT Projects including COVID initiatives’ under Government category by IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- While stating this here today, an official spokesperson of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications said that the event was held online and all the applicants and winners joined virtually. The award was received by Head State eGov Team, DITECH on behalf of the Department of IT Electronics & Communication, Haryana, Sh. Munish Chandan.
- He informed that these awards are given by the IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and are in line with the National Agenda set by the Prime Minister towards creating a Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasized that IMC recognizes and honours those organizations and individuals who have contributed to making life easier by adopting technology. In addition, these awards also recognize the achievements of IT industry innovation and digital of organizations in various fields.
- He shared that the Haryana has been nominated for top 8 citizen citizen centric implementations initiated during the COVID-19 lockdown period, including e-Kharid portal, COVID Sampling portal, Healthy Haryana Mobile App, COVID 19 Sero Survey Mobile App etc.
- The spokesperson added that the most productive of all government departments is the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, which had represented the state in eight entries of which three were outstanding. He added that all of these implementations will drive and support the customers, who are the citizens of the country.
- He stated that all nominations submitted for the IMC Digital Technology Awards 2020 were accepted by the jury who were impressed by these nominations. He added that all nominations were categorized as excellent and timely implementations which have been the need of the hour.
- The spokesperson said that it would be worth mentioning here that the IMC Group informed the state that the jury panel unanimously agreed to give State Award to Haryana instead of granting awards to individual projects for their overall proactive approach towards innovative digital contributions for the benefit of citizens during the COVID-19 crisis. He said that Haryana has been a pioneer state in implementing citizen centric e-governance initiatives during the COVID crisis.
- He said that Digital Haryana initiatives being executed under the broad Digital India programme has brought in transparency and helped in reducing corruption in government offices. Major eGovernance initiatives like eKharid, Antyodaya SARAL, Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portals, COVID initiatives, place Haryana in top IT implementation States across the country.
- Principal Secretary of the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Sh. Vineet Garg mentioned that Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is committed to bring faceless, paperless, cashless & Secure Governance to all citizens wherein the DBT & MSP payments are directly being credited to the Bank accounts of the Beneficiaries and Farmers respectively. Haryana Government has brought a range of public delivery services under one umbrella through self operated online mode and assisted mode through Common Service Centres (CSCs) to being the ease of living and convenience to the daily lives of the citizens.
