Health services are constantly improving during the tenure of the present State Government – Health Minister

Health Minister dedicates 198 Patient Transport Ambulances (PTAs) and 47 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to the people of the State for providing prompt health services

Chandigarh, January 20- Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that health services are being continuously improved during the tenure of the present State Government and today in this series, 198 Patient Transport Ambulances (PTAs) and 47 The Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) have been dedicated to provide prompt health services to the people of the State.

Besides this, soon a mapping will be conducted with regard to health infrastructure so that all the health services can be made available to the people as per the requirement. Sh. Vij today flagged off 198 Patient Transport Ambulances (PTAs) and 47 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) in Panchkula after addressing the people. He said that the present government is steadfast to provide better health facilities to the people of the State and in this episode mapping will be done regarding the infrastructure of health services.

More than 350 hospitals of the State have become NABH – Vij

Sharing that superlative healthcare facilities are being provided in the hospitals, Sh. Vij said that in order to ensure that health services are provided to the people of the State as per the norms, all the private hospitals are now National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH)-accredited. Moreover, more than 350 hospitals in the State are presently NABH-accredited. Likewise, the work of standardization of government hospitals has also been done and till now more than 80 CHCs, PHCs and district hospitals are National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) accredited. He said that we want to get all the hospitals standardized and this work is going on in this series.

WHO-GMP medicines are available in government hospitals- Vij

Sh. Vij said that the medicines and equipment in our hospitals should be of high quality, therefore it has been decided to procure WHO-GMP medicines (is a system for ensuring that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standards) in government hospitals so that the people of the State can get good and quality medicines. Likewise, USA-FDA certified equipment is being procured in government hospitals to ensure that every Haryana resident gets good treatment. The Health Minister said that medical colleges are going to open soon in 6 districts of the State, but he wants to build a college in every district. He said that in the way government health services are being promoted, similarly, private sector has the right to move forward. Government aims to upgrade the facilities such that people take treatment in government hospitals.

Wall of Memory made in memory of Corona Warriors – Sh. Vij

Sh. Vij said that 28 personnel of our Health Department have sacrificed their lives during the Corona period in last two years and in their remembrance, a Wall of Memory has been built at the Headquarters. Besides this, a Wall of Memory has also been built in the area/district where such COVID warriors where they last posted.

Free Testing, Free Vaccination, Free Treatment in Haryana – Sh. Vij

Sh. Vij said that the COVID third wave has arrived but it is not as dangerous, however, we cannot be complacent. He said that the Health Department is fully alert and ready to deal with the third wave. He urged the people that those who have not vaccinated should definitely get vaccinated because testing, vaccination and treatment is free in Haryana.

Government of Thailand took cue for Covid management from Haryana – Sh. Vij

The Health Minister said that Haryana has done an outstanding job during the Covid crisis so much so that the Thailand Government took cue from us in a meeting held digitally. Sh. Vij said that now-a-days about 9,000 COVID cases are being reported every day, out of which more than 5,000 cases are reported from districts having proximity with Delhi – Gurugram, Faridabad and Sonipat.

Haryana first state to set up RTPCR lab in every district-Vij

The Health Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country where RTPCR labs have been set up in all districts except Jhajjar and soon RTPCR lab will be established in Jhajjar as well. Apart from this, Genome Sequencing Lab has been set up in Rohtak and now Genome Sequencing Lab will be set up at one or two other places also.

Health department budget Rs. 5,500 crore – Sh. Vij

Sh. Vij said that earlier rarely X-Ray machines could be seen in Government Hospitals but during the tenure of the present State Government, machines like MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, cathlab etc. have been installed. He said that for the treatment of heart, cathlab machines have been installed in four districts and dialysis machines have been installed in all the districts. In addition, new dispensaries have been opened in 129 institutions. He said that the budget of the Health Department has been enhanced from Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 5,500 crore. In addition, NHM has a separate budget of Rs 1,100 crore.

Vij flagged off 198 PTAs and 47 MMUs

Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij dedicated 198 Patient Transport Ambulances (PTAs) and 47 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to the people of the State. He said that the State Government has procured additional 188 Patient Transport Ambulances and additional 47 Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) under “Atal Janani Vahini Sewa” to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). This will ensure that the quality health services can be provided to the people in remote areas and areas where health services are to be improved. The State Government also decided to purchase 10 additional new Patient Transport Ambulances in lieu of the old Ambulances.

Now, the State has a fleet of 635 ambulances and 59 Mobile Medical Units – Sh. Vij

       He informed that at present, 198 new ambulances are being added and now there is a fleet of 635 ambulances. Similarly, 47 new Mobile Medical Units are being added in the State and now there is a fleet of 59 Mobile Medical Units. He informed that 614 drivers have been provided by the Transport Department to the Health Department so as to operate 198 Patient Transport Ambulances and 47 Mobile Medical Units.

Health Department will procure additional 26 Advanced Life Support Ambulances and 16 Neonatal Ambulances – Sh. Vij

He said that to further strengthen the health care system and emergency response system in the State, the Health Department is in the process of procuring additional 26 Advanced Life Support Ambulances and 16 Neonatal Ambulances, which will be taken up soon.

980 Medical Officers will be recruited in Haryana – Sh. Rajeev Arora

Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora said that the requirement of logistics during the COVID period were met by National Health Mission, Haryana and it has been the fulcrum for managing several health programme. He said that NHM, Haryana is the nodal Department for programmes like vaccination, home isolation, e-Sanjeevani. Further, today about 35 per cent of the PTA ambulances are being added in the ambulance fleet and similarly about 70 per cent of the MMUs are being added into the MMU fleet.

He said that 630 vehicles have been deployed in the State under ERSS to provide vehicles in case of emergency to the people, similarly 635 ambulances are being deployed by the Health Department for day-night service. He said that out of about Rs 249 crore in the budget of ECRP-1, Rs 224 crore has been funded by the Central government, whereas in ECRP-2, Rs 304 crore has been received in the ratio of 60:40. Sh. Arora said that Haryana would recruit 980 medical officers in the next two months and 1,500 to 2,000 paramedical staff would also be available in the first week of next month. He said that the price of RTPCR in Haryana is Rs 299 for private labs while for home pick up it is Rs 499. But in America, the rate of RTPCR is much higher. He asked the Mission Director of NHM, Haryana to start the exercise of dovetailing  Dial 108 with Dial 112 along with providing training to ALS, DLS, PTA.

Under the COVID Vaccination Programme, 100 percent of the first dose and 78 percent of the second dose of vaccines have been administered in Haryana – Sh. Prabhjot Singh

On this occasion, Mission Director Sh. Prabhjot Singh said that the arrival time of Dial 108 service is 14 minutes, and we aim to further reduce it to be 10 minutes, while 33 minutes is the time to reach the patient, which has to be reduced to 30 minutes. He said that under the Covid vaccination programme, 100 percent of the first dose and 78 percent of the second dose have been administered in Haryana and the ratio of maternal delivery is 96 percent. He said that so far more than 60000 home isolation kits have also been distributed in the State.

Director General, Department of Health Services Dr. Veena Singh gave the vote of thanks. On this occasion, Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Director of AYUSH Department, Dr. Saket Kumar, Director of Health Services, Dr. Usha Gupta, officials of Health Department, NHM, AYUSH and Transport Department and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Ambala 7, Bhiwani 12, Faridabad 6, Fatehabad 7, Gurugram 7, Hisar 11, Jhajjar 9, Jind 16, Kaithal 9, Karnal 7, Kurukshetra 8, Mahendragarh (Narnaul) 11, Nuh (Mewat) 8, Palwal 11, Panchkula 8,  Panipat 8, Rewari 8, Rohtak 8, Sirsa 17, Sonipat 11 and Yamunanagar 9.

Similarly, the mobile medical units being flagged off today were allotted to districts as follows – two in Ambala, four in Bhiwani, one in Charkhi Dadri, one in Faridabad, three in Fatehabad, one in Gurugram, four in Hisar, two in Jhajjar, two in Jind, three in Kaithal, four in Karnal, two in Kurukshetra, two in Mahendragarh, one in Palwal, three in Panipat, two in Rewari, three in Rohtak, one in Sirsa, three in Sonepat and three in Yamunanagar.

Till date, about 50 lakh patients have been sent by ambulance and 17 lakh patients have availed the facility of Mobile Medical Unit

Ambulance and mobile medical units are continuously serving the people of Haryana. Till date, about 50 lakh patients have been sent via ambulances and 17 lakh patients have availed the facility of Mobile Medical Unit. This effort has been instrumental in reducing the high maternal and infant mortality rate in Haryana and improving survival in road accident cases.

Government is committed to provide effective and efficient referral transport system to the citizens

The present State Governments are committed to provide effective and efficient referral transport system to the citizens. Ambulances and mobile medical units are being managed by qualified and skilled medical staff and the emergency system is being handled by 24×7 control rooms in the State. All ambulances and mobile medical units are tracked online using GPS.
