Chandigarh, December 3 – In the International Gita Mahotsava-2021, the craftsmanship of 19 states of the country have been displayed for the tourists coming from the country and abroad on the holy banks of Brahmasarovar located in Kurukshetra. 125 craftsmen from 19 states are participating in this festival. Out of these craftsmen, 22 have been honoured with National Awards and National Certificates. Apart from this, 18 craftsmen have also received state awards.
Appropriate arrangements have been made by the State Government for these craftsmen. Giving information here today, an official spokesperson said that invitations were sent to craftsmen from all over the country for the International Gita Mahotsav. North Zone Cultural Arts Centre Patiala (NZCC) was entrusted with the responsibility of inviting craftsmen.
Out of 125 craftsmen who reached this festival, 21 are from Uttar Pradesh, 12 each from Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana, 11 from West Bengal, 10 from Punjab, 9 each from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, 8 from Uttarakhand, 7 from Delhi, 5 each from Himachal Pradesh and Assam, 4 from Chandigarh, 3 from Chhattisgarh, 2 each from Bihar, Goa, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu, while 1 craftsman from Pondicherry.
He said that in International Gita Mahotsava, handloom, textile, leather, bronze metal jewellery, cane and bamboo, hand printed textile, jacket-coat, shawl, bed sheet, bed cover, floor covering, patch work, Wooden Carving, Leather Art, Jewellery, Terracotta Pot, Doll And Toys, Wooden Toys, Wooden and Zari, Painting, Jaipuri Quilt, Stone Carving, Meenakari Jewellery, Paddy and Straw Craft, Dry Flower, Poetry and Clay, Punjabi Jooti, Phulkari, Pashmina Shawl, Kani Shawl, Kava & Dry Fruit, Karuva Booti Saree, and Blue Art Poetry among other things will be the centre of attraction for the tourists.
