  • Two families get ex gratia relief of 2 lakh
  • Free COVID-19 treatment of every BPL person is being assured
  • Poverty no longer a deterrent to get the required treatment
  • Manohar Lal’s efforts of providing financial aid a ray of hope for of BPL families
  • PPP ensuring financial help reaches to grassroot levels
  • Chandigarh, May 23: Last year when COVID-19 Pandemic had knocked the doors of Haryana, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while pulling up socks, is taking several constant measures to ensure every possible support reaches to grassroots levels, especially to those living below poverty line so that no one is left destitute during this distressing phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • Just like last year Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while reiterating his commitment of every needy person has the first right on the Government, this year too is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that COVID-19 do not create economic havoc in the lives of these unprivileged families.
  • From making COVID-19 treatment free to providing insurance relief for BPL families affected by COVID-19 to announcing free of cost ration to the poor, Haryana Chief Minister has certainly turned a guardian angel for the needy who are finding it difficult to fight this Pandemic.
  • Two families get ex gratia relief of 2 lakh
  • From past seven years, since Sh. Manohar Lal led State Government came to power, every wing of the government machinery while working on the principles of Antyodaya- of serving and uplifting the last person first took several initiatives for reaching out to every needy residing in Haryana.
  • Continuing the same spirit during these unprecedented times of COVID-19, Chief Minister, had announced to provide an ex gratia relief of Rs. 2 lakh to the families of the those who had lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the period from March 1, 2021 to May 31, 2021 and so far two such bereaved families have already given this financial relief who have lost their family members during the said period. Though, around 2593 such BPL patients who were undergoing treatment during this time period have been identified by the Health department and it was found that 24 people have lost their lives due to COVID. However, the verification of the rest of the beneficiaries is going on and the financial relief to the pending families would soon be given once their verification is done.
  • Not only this, after May 31, 2021, an insurance relief scheme has also been announced by the Chief Minister under which a financial relief of Rs 2 lakh would be provided to the families of the those who had lost their lives due to COVID-19 or due to any other untoward incident.
  • In this scheme, for the registration of persons belonging to BPL family or those having family an annual income of less than Rs 1.80 lakh in the age of 18 to 50 years, the Mukhya Mantri Parivar Samridhi Yojna (MMPSY) portal https://cm-psy.haryana.gov.in has been reopened  from May 15, 2021. The   Registration can be done online directly by the beneficiary or through a CSC / local operator.  So far, over 2.38 lakh families have been registered on this portal.  Under this scheme, the families do not have to pay any insurance premium, as the premium of Rs 330 per person will be paid or reimbursed by the State Government.
  • Free treatment to BPL COVID-19 patients
  • In order to save the lives of the poor, the government, Haryana Government under the able leadership of the Chief Minister, not only included COVID-19 treatment to the list of Ayushman Bharat scheme, but also announced to bear the entire treatment cost of BPL patients undergoing treatment in private hospitals across the State, who for some reason could not get themselves registered in Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Not only this, an amount of Rs 5000 is also being given as financial aid to all such patients living in home isolation.
  • Besides this, the State Government is also depositing a medical assistance of Rs. 1000 per patient per day or a maximum of Rs 7000 in the accounts of the private hospitals for the COVID-19 patients of Haryana who are on oxygen support or are admitted in ICU wards in their hospitals across the State.
  • Saving every precious life is utmost priority
  • Before providing any afterlife relief, providing best class medical facility to save every precious life is the utmost priority of any Government and for this Haryana Government apart from making extensive arrangements in government hospitals, private hospitals also ensure adequate availability of medicines, oxygen supply etc.
  • Meanwhile, in view of the expenditure being spent on the treatment of COVID-19 patients, Haryana Government is also providing 20 percent additional funds to the emplaned hospitals for treatment of the COVID-19 patients covered under this scheme so that no poor is denied of treatment due to lack of money.
  • It is pertinent to mention that in Haryana 261 hospitals have been empanelled to provide timely treatment to COVID-19 patients who covered under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, this includes 68 government and 193 private hospitals.
  • In an amount of Rs 5 crore has been spent on the treatment of 11374 COVID-19 patients covered under this Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
  • Following the motto of no one sleeps empty stomach
  • Like last year too this time too Chief Minister is ensuring that no needy in the State sleeps empty stomach and for this ration card holder of A.A.Y., BPL and O.P.H. category would get free of cost 5 kg wheat per family member of May and June month apart from the essential food items being which are already distributed to these ration card holders and in this way about 1.13 crore people of the state would be benefited. So far 96 percent of such eligible beneficiaries have been provided free ration of May month and the rest would also be get the ration by May 25, 2021.
  • PPP ensuring financial help reaches to grassroot levels
  • Under the State Government’s ambitious Parivar Pehchan Patra Scheme(PPP) is also playing a pivotal role in ensuring that the financial assistance being given to these families reaches directly to their verified bank accounts as the data of the poor families have been linked with the PPP portal. For the families whose bank accounts have not been verified on the PPP portal for some reason, a service of sending SMS on their registered mobile number has been started to ensure that they too get the much needed financial support during this hour of crisis.
  • “We understand that strengthening both Private and Government hospitals is the ned of the hour for putting up a tough fight against this Pandemic. Therefore, private hospitals have been included to provide best treatment for every needy.  We also understand that a poor man cannot afford treatment in private hospitals therefore we have decided to bear that cost as well.  Our aim is to save the life of every patient, because saving every life is precious is not only our utmost priority but is our moral and ethical duty too,” says Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.
