Gadkari accepts demands made by Haryana Chief Minister for improving connectivity in Haryana on the spot

Delhi to Dausa part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to be completed by March-2022

Chandigarh, September 16:  The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Sh. Nitin Gadkari today said that 15 projects for construction of roads and bridges have been approved for Delhi NCR at a cost of Rs. 53,000 crore.  Out of these 14 projects are in progress.  With the completion of these projects, pollution will reduce in Delhi NCR and people will not have to waste their time in long traffic jams.

After inspecting the construction work of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway along with Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Nitin Gadkari addressed a programme organized at Lohtki village of Sohna sub-division of Gurugram district. He was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Statistics Programme Implementation, Sh. Rao Inderjit Singh and Sohna MLA, Sh.  Sanjay Singh.

In a programme organized at Lohtki village of Gurugram, Union Minister Sh. Gadkari said that Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway of about 1380 km length is the longest expressway in India which will be ready by March-2023.  About Rs. 95,000 crore will be spent on this.  The part of this expressway from Delhi to Dausa in Rajasthan and from Vadodara to Ankleshwar will be built by March-2022.

This expressway is being developed as an 8-lane access control green field expressway, which can be expanded to 12 lanes by adding 4 more lanes in future.  A median of 21 meters width is being built on this expressway, which can be reduced in future to widen the expressway.

160 km part of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Haryana

Sh. Gadkari said that about 160 km length of this expressway falls in the state of Haryana on which Rs.10,400 crore is being spent. Out of this, work has also been allotted for the construction of an expressway of 130 km length.

This expressway will pass through Gurugram, Palwal and Nuh districts of Haryana.  Way-side facilities will be built at 6 places in the part falling in Haryana. This also includes various  facilities for passengers like resorts, restaurants, dormitories, hospitals, food courts, fuel stations etc., besides parking garages for trucks etc.  Not only this, there will also be commercial space of logistic park.

Sh. Gadkari said that helicopter ambulance service would also be available on this expressway to take the accident victims to the nearest hospital at the earliest.

Accepting the demands put forth by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Sh. Gadkari informed that three projects including villages Bilaspur, Manesar and Kapriwas have been approved on the Delhi-Jaipur highway at a cost of about Rs.250 crore. On this occasion, the Chief Minister demanded to build underpasses or flyovers at these places so that people get facilities there and the number of accidents are reduced.

Sh. Gadkari further said that the work of making interchange on Palwal-Aligarh National Highway and Eastern Peripheral Express Highway (KGP) has also been approved. Keeping this demand made before the Union Minister Sh. Gadkari by Sh. Manohar Lal had said that till the time interchange is not constructed, people using one route to go to the other will face difficulties.  Sh. Gadkari also approved the demand of Chief Minister to connect Faridabad city with Jewar airport.

The construction of elevated road on Gurugram-Sohna road to be completed by March-2022

Sh. Gadkari said that 6 lane 5 kilometer long elevated road is being constructed on Gurugram-Sohna road at a cost of about Rs 1700 crore which will be completed by March 2022. He also informed that the U-turn underpass being built near Ambience Mall on Delhi-Jaipur highway will also be completed by October 2021.

He informed that for the construction of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, one and a half times compensation has been given to the farmers so that the farmer does not suffer.  “I am also a farmer and I understand the problems of the farmer,” said Sh. Gadkari. He also called upon the farmers not to sell their land adjacent to the highway, but if they develop that land, they will get more profit.

Responding to a question, Sh. Gadkari said that 8 percent waste plastic is being used in road construction.  The Ministry has also issued a notification regarding this. In addition, the quality of tire rubber waste is being enhanced by mixing it with bitumen.

Earlier, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while welcoming the Union Minister, Sh. Nitin Gadkari, described him as an enthusiastic and hardworking Minister, under whose able directions road network has been laid down across the country. He said that whatever project he had taken to Sh. Gadkari, he never said no and also   immediately approved the project.

Sh.  Manohar Lal said that in the past, when it came to building a special expressway from Delhi to Amritsar, which would later be extended to Jammu, Sh. Gadkari called him and the Chief Minister of Punjab and asked for its alignment and immediately finalized it.

Similarly, in Haryana, when a demand was made for the construction of a highway from east to west, Sh. Gadkari had immediately approved the road from Panipat to Dabwali.

The Chief Minister said that many such highways are now being built in Haryana.  By making them our financial condition will improve.  Industries will be setup, more services will be provided, people will get an opportunity to live a comfortable life and of course we will move forward, as a Nation.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that especially Gurugram, Nuh and Palwal districts of Haryana would be benefited after the  construction of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.  Investors will come here, industries will come up and people will get employment. A good road signifies the economic progress of that area, said the Chief Minister.

Scholarship Application for Minority Students Started Online

Chandigarh, September 16- The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs has decided to provide scholarships for the year 2021-22 to the eligible students belonging to Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Christian, Jain and Zoroastrian religions of the minority community for pre-matriculation, post-matriculation and merit-cum-means based eligible students. Online applications are invited by the applicants for pre-matric scholarship before November 15, 2021 and for post-matriculation and merit-cum-means based scholarship before November 30, 2021.

Giving information in this regard, it was informed that in order to provide scholarship to the eligible students of Pre-Matric, Post-Matric and Merit-cum-Means basis to each minority community, the students who have secured 50 percent or more marks in their final examination. Applications have been invited at the National Scholarship Portal at www.scholarship.gov.in. He said that the income certificate and minority certificate must be issued by the competent authority declared by the State Government, otherwise the application will be rejected. He said that according to the guidelines issued by the Government, the scholarship will be directly transferred to the bank account of the students/guardians. The applicants can avail scholarship for only one course/class at a time.

He said that for online scholarship applications, it is mandatory to attach pre-final examination certificate, income tax certificate and minority community certificate, bank passbook, PAN card and Aadhaar number documents with the application form. Last date for submission of online applications by students for fresh scholarship (first time applicant) and renewal scholarship (applicant who got scholarship during 2020-21) is November 15, 2021 and for pre-matric scholarship and post-matriculation and merit-cum-means based the last date for applying for scholarship is November 30, 2021

Chandigarh, September 16– To comply with the orders of the Supreme Court regarding blocking of NH-44 by protesting farmers on Kundli-Singhu border near Sonipat, Haryana Government has constituted a State-Level committee in order to hold discussions with the farmers’ and farmers’ organizations.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that a State-Level Committee comprising of Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Sh. Rajeev Arora as Chairman and Director General of Police, Sh. P.K. Agrawal, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Secretary, Home-I Department, Dr. Balkar Singh as its members has been constituted.

The spokesperson said that the Committee shall hold discussions with the Farmers/Farmers Organizations to resolve the issue of blockades of inter-state roads and National Highways to avoid any inconvenience to General Public. The concerned Divisional Commissioners, Commissioners of Police, Inspectors General of Police, District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police shall also be associated with the Committee for the said purpose.

Chandigarh, September 16:  Haryana Government has decided to open government and private schools for the students studying in classes I to III from September 20, 2021. The classes would be held while strictly adhering to SOPs issued by the Education Department.

Sharing more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the schools across the State were closed in compliance with the lockdown guidelines issued due to the Pandemic.

Students studying from classes VI to XII were started on July 23, 2021, while classes IV to V were opened on August 1, 2021.  Now classes I to III will start on September 20, 2021.

The spokesperson said that according to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the students will be allowed to attend school with prior permission of the parents.

The screening of every student will be done in schools.  No student or visitor with above normal temperature will be allowed to enter the school.
