Proposal to strengthen and widen the road going from Panchkula to Morni  sent to the Centre Government

Chief Minister presides over a meeting of the State Wildlife Board

Chandigarh, October 19:  Haryana Chief Minister,  Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Panchkula-Morni road project will give further impetus to the Panchkula metropolitan development.  This will provide better facilities to the people and tourists of the Morni area, he added.

The Chief Minister while presiding over the sixth meeting of State Wildlife Board Haryana held today also accorded approval to send the proposal regarding further strengthening and widening of the road going from Panchkula to Morni to the Central Government.  Minister of Forest and Wildlife Department, Sh. Kanwar Pal also remained present on this occasion.

It is pertinent to mention here that about a 17 km long road from Panchkula to Morni is to be widened and strengthened.  This road comes under the area of Khol-hi-Raitan Wildlife Sanctuary in Panchkula.  The approval of the National Board of Wildlife of the Central Government is mandatory for the construction of this road.

The Chief Minister said that widening of this road is very essential for the development and tourism of Panchkula and while keeping this in mind, he immediately directed the State Wildlife Board to make a proposal to widen and strengthen this road and send it to the National Board of Wildlife.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that with the renovation of this road, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Project would get a boost and tourists would also get better transportation facilities in the Morni area.

Ensure no delay in proposals related to wildlife and environment

During the meeting,  the Chief Minister said that there should be no delay in the proposals related to forest area, wildlife and environment.  He directed the departmental officers that the proposals related to these should be reviewed in time and decisions should be taken for the same so that development works can be done in a time-bound manner.  He further directed the officers concerned to pay special attention to wildlife conservation.

The project of the Indian Institute of Ayurveda to be established at Shree Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, Panchkula was also discussed during the meeting.  This project was also sent to the National Board of Wildlife of the Central Government for approval.

Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (B&R) and Architecture Department, Sh. Alok Nigam, Additional Chief Secretary, Forests and Wildlife Department, Sh.  S.N Roy, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Sh. Vineet Garg and other senior officers were also present in this meeting.
