Chandigarh, January 7 – Reiterating State Government’s commitment to ushering in transparent, responsive governance where citizens can obtain services without visiting government offices and without trouble, as many as 27,600 families who had participated in the Antyodaya Gramodaya Uday Mela organized under its ambitious Mukhyamatri Parivar Utthan Yojana (MMPUY) have already received the required assistance from the State Government.
Addressing a press conference here today, the Chief Minister said that three years back, Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) scheme was implemented in the entire state to ensure pro-active delivery of Government services, schemes and benefits to rightful beneficiaries.
Based on income verification, data of 1,48,000 households with an annual income of less than Rs. 1 lakh was prepared as of December 1, 2021. The third phase verification of income of the families registered under Parivar Pehchan Patra has been completed and the work of verification of the fourth phase of income verification between Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 1 lakh is still going on,” shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
He further shared that as many as 91,900 families had participated in the Antyodaya Melas. Out of these families, the responsibility of providing every possible assistance to around 58,200 families has been already assigned to various concerned departments.
“The counselling of the remaining families is being done by the departments. Assistance to 27,600 families has already been given,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that as the third wave of COVID-19 has come, hence once normalcy prevails the second phase of Antyodaya Melas will begin. The State Government has set a target of upliftment of one lakh families by March 2022.
Opposition is unnecessarily provoking people
The Chief Minister said that Congress gave jobs unfairly during its tenure because of which many people lost their jobs after the decision of the Court.
“Our government is ready to provide employment to such people on humanitarian grounds, but even then the Opposition is provoking these people, which is wrong,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He shared that Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) has been constituted for all those who are having relevant experience of government work to provide employment to them by giving them priority as per the prescribed criteria.
“Even on this good work being done by us, the Opposition is instigating the people. Since Congress does not have any valid issue to talk about hence they are provoking them to pressurize the government. We are not getting affected by this pressure,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.
