Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, today virtually inaugurated another New Field Hospital having a facility of 100 oxygen beds in Karnal and 30 oxygen beds facility in two hospitals of Assandh.

- Chandigarh, May 10 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, today virtually inaugurated another New Field Hospital having a facility of 100 oxygen beds in Karnal and 30 oxygen beds facility in two hospitals of Assandh. Besides this, the Chief Minister also launched Karnal Resource Locator Mobile App prepared by the Karnal District Administration specially designed for COVID-19.
- Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal was also present on this occasion and MP, Sh. Sanjay Bhatia also attended the programme through Video Conferencing from Karnal.
- The Chief Minister said that this time the virus spread is not confined to urban areas only as it is also hitting rural areas hard. For this, everyone should ensure that the necessary arrangements are made on a large scale.
- He said that there is a need to provide the immediate facility of oxygen beds at every community health centres and for this, he directed the Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Department to ensure the availability of oxygen beds along with other necessary arrangements at the health centres functional in rural areas at the earliest so that the villagers can immediately get this facility.
- The Chief Minister said that as many as 1800 vaccination centres have been set up in the state and so far 43 lakh vaccines have been administered. The vaccination drive in the State is being further intensified, he added.
- He said that 3.50 lakh vaccines will be made available soon and on a priority basis, the vaccination would be administered to 8,000 teams who are conducting survey in rural areas, frontline workers, government employees working during this Pandemic.
- The Chief Minister said that there are 1.16 lakh active patients in Haryana and 10,500 beds are available in hospitals. Besides this, 1.5 lakh patients are in Home Isolation, requiring 12,000 oxygen beds. Therefore an arrangement of 1250 oxygen beds is being made. Additional arrangement of 500 beds each has also been made in the hospitals in Panipat and Hisar and in the premises of Jindal school.
- “In this way, the required action is being taken to increase beds in hospitals of every district. SGT Medical College and Medanta are also increasing beds in Gurugram. I urge all the social organizations and private institutions to stand together as we all have to collectively give a tough fight to this Pandemic,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
- The Chief Minister said that information about all necessary facilities related to hospitals, ambulances, medical stores, plasma donors, vaccination centres can be obtained on the Karnal Resource Locator Mobile App. The Chief Minister also reviewed the Karnal District Administration’s detailed plan made to tackle the expected third wave of COVID-19.
- Supervised Home Care
- The Chief Minister was apprised that out of the total active cases in Karnal, around 7 to 8 per cent of patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while the rest of the patients are either in home quarantined or in are admitted COVID Care Centres. As many as 200 MBBS students have been imparted special training so as to provide Supervised Home Care facility to these patients. In a day, these MBBS students give telephonic medical consultation to about 32 patients and some patients have also been admitted to the hospital on the recommendations given by these students.
- The Chief Minister was further informed that 100 bedded new field hospital has been made functional with a facility of 60 beds with oxygen concentrator and 40 beds having a facility of oxygen cylinders till other concentrators arrive.
- Adequate arrangement for oxygen
- The Chief Minister said that Haryana’s oxygen quota has increased from 156 tonnes to 282 tonnes. Besides this, a request has been made to the Centre to further increase this quota so as to ensure that in future if the number of patients increase, an uninterrupted supply of oxygen should also be ensured.
- “Although 10 to 40 per cent of the patients admitted in the hospitals located in NCR and GT road hospitals are from Delhi. Presently the State is also making adequate arrangements for ensuring uninterrupted oxygen supply in these hospitals as ethically we cannot deny admission to the patients coming from outside,” Sh. Manohar Lal.
- 1000 applications received for the refilling of oxygen cylinders at home
- The Chief Minister said that a portal has been started to ensure the supply of oxygen to the patients living in Home Isolation. So far, nearly 1000 applications have been received on this portal. As many as 150 social organizations have been registered on this portal to ensure door to door supply of oxygen cylinders.
- He said that the teams of various departments have started conducting door to door village surveys. The Health Department team will reach out to every person and conduct a preliminary health check and thereafter those who test COVID-19 positive will be admitted to hospitals.
- On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health and Engineering Department, Sh. Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General Information Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal were also present.
