- Chandigarh, June 13:- Haryana Governor, Sh. Satyadeo Narain Arya has called upon the youth to donate blood which is the true service to humanity while rising above caste, creed and religion thereby becoming responsible citizens of the nation. Sh. Arya said this on the occasion of World Blood Donors Day and extended best wishes to the people of the state in a message here today. He said that like every year, the Indian Red Cross Committee, Haryana State Branch is celebrating World Blood Donors Day on June 14, 2021 in every district of the state in association with each district Red Cross branch of Haryana province. Voluntary blood donation services are part of the basic activities of the Red Cross and these services are being continued by the selfless and dedicated volunteers of Red Cross Society.
- Sh. Arya said that despite the corona pandemic, a total of 2,994 blood donation camps were organised by the Indian Red Cross Committee, Haryana State Branch in the year 2020-21 through its 22 district Red Cross branches in which 2,05,620 blood units were collected. He congratulated the blood donors as well as the Haryana government and all the people of the state for this effort.
- Sh. Arya said that this year World Health Organization has given the slogan for the ‘World Blood Donation Day’ as “Give Blood and keep the world beating”.
- He said that the humanity is coping with the COVID-19 pandemic and at this time when there was a need for blood donation, voluntary blood donation was done by dedicated volunteers of Red Cross Society, Haryana to protect humanity, which has given new life to hundreds of people.
