So far, 1156 Indians have been brought home under ‘Operation Ganga’ run by the Government of India to rescue Indians stuck in Ukraine. Till now 91 students of Haryana have also been brought back to the country safely.

Chandigarh, February 28:  So far, 1156 Indians have been brought home under ‘Operation Ganga’ run by the Government of India to rescue Indians stuck in Ukraine. Till now 91 students of Haryana have also been brought back to the country safely.

The students who have been evacuated from Ukraine have thanked Prime Minister,  Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal for their safe return.

They said that in this difficult time, the Central Government, as well as the Haryana Government, have extended all kinds of possible help to them.

Meanwhile, other students stuck in Ukraine are also being evacuated safely.  Even today, the sixth flight from Budapest (Hungary) has taken off under ‘Operation Ganga’, in which 240 Indian nationals have been brought back to Delhi.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Government of India had started the ‘Operation Ganga’ campaign on February, 26,2022,   Under this campaign, so far, 1156 Indian nationals have returned safely from Ukraine by five flights. As soon as the sixth flight reaches Delhi, this number will increase to 1396.

The help desk set up by the Haryana government is also doing commendable work to help the citizens. This help desk, set up through the Department of Foreign Cooperation (FCD) in Haryana, has so far received over 400 phone calls, 800-900 WhatsApp messages and 800 e-mails.  The officers deployed at the helpline desk are in constant touch with the students and the Ministry of External Affairs.

The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal himself is also closely monitoring the situation and is constantly taking updates from the officials.

The Chief Minister assured all the citizens stranded in Ukraine that they should not panic, they would certainly be brought back to India.

He said that the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi will bring back all its citizens safely.
