Target to provide 50,000 solar tube well connections in the state by the year 2022-23: Ranjit Singh
Honoured various categories of consumers for remarkable efforts in the field of energy conservation
Chandigarh, January 11- Haryana Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh said that a target has been set to provide 22,000 solar tube well connections for the year 2021-22, out of which 15,000 solar tube well connections have been provided so far and the remaining 7,000 connections will be given by March 2022. He said that by the year 2022-23, total 50,000 solar tube well connections will be provided across the state.
Sh. Ranjit Singh was addressing the State Level Energy Conservation Award Distribution Programme organized by the New and Renewable Energy Department at Rest House of Public Works Department, Sector-1, Panchkula today.
On this occasion, he honoured industries, building owners and educational institutions for extending remarkable efforts in the field of energy conservation. He also released a handbook titled “Best Practices on Energy Conservation for Hospitals”
Sh. Ranjit Singh said that energy conservation is the pivot of development and we have to use our natural resources judiciously and wisely for sustainable and better development for our coming generations. Under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal, the Power and New and Renewable Energy Department has set new dimensions in the field of supplying Power and Renewable Energy. The cases of power theft have reduced in the last seven years and the line loss is likely to be less than 14 per cent in the financial year 2021-22. He said that Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman has also appreciated the efforts of Haryana State for using and installing energy conservation devices in the state and she said that other states should also study Haryana’s model in the direction of energy conservation.
He said that in the coming times, Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal and Sonipat are going to become the biggest industrial hubs of North India and power sector has a significant contribution in this development. Today, the pace of development works has accelerated due to the uninterrupted power supply. These days, there has been a lot of awareness among the people about the use of renewable energy in industries, buildings, educational institutions and even in villages.
On this occasion, Sh. Ranjit Singh also distributed awards to various categories of energy consumers under Energy Conservation Act 2005.
