- J.C. Bose University to provide ‘Margdarshan’ to 9 Institutes in achieving quality parameters
- Chandigarh March 16: The All India Council for Technical Edu incation (AICTE) has granted J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad the status of ‘Mentor Institute‘to support nearby Technical Institutes in achieving quality parameters like NBA Accreditation. The University will serve as the ‘Mentor’ (Margarshan Institute) to guide and disseminate knowledge to 9 Technical Institutes under the Margdarshan Scheme of AICTE.
- Mardarshan Initiative has been introduced by the AICTE to guide and circulate knowledge among technical institutes to improve quality parameters in order to improve the quality of technical education. The Mentee Beneficiary Institutes (MBI) which have been allotted to the University include Aravali College of Engineering and Management in Faridabad, Dronocharya College of Engineering in Gurugram, DPG institute of Technology and Management in Gurugram, NGF College of engineering and Technology in Palwal, St. Andrews Institute of Technology and Management in Farukh Nagar (Gurugram), Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology in Panipat, Government Polytechnic in Sonepat, Government Polytechnic in Manesar and Government Polytechnic in Jhajjar.
- Detailing about the Margdarshan scheme and its implementation to the principals, Chief Coordinator Professor Vikram Singh said that the purpose of the scheme is to conduct faculty development programmes, national level workshops, guest lectures and other activities for the technical upliftment of the member institutions in terms of teaching learning process. In this regard, the council has sanctioned a grant of Rs 45 lakh to Mentor 9 Institutes under this project for duration of 3 years.
- Expressing pleasure over the selection as ‘Mentor Institute’, the Vice Chancellor Professor Dinesh Kumar said that J.C. Bose University has a proven track record in various quality assessment parameters as it has successfully conducted various NBA visits. Most of the technical programs of the University are accredited with NBA. The University had also obtained accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ Grade in the First Cycle of Accreditation in 2016. The University has also made its presence in NIRF ranking at National level. The track record of the University reflects the quality initiatives being taken by the University at Administrative and Academic front.
- Considering the expertise of the University in the area of quality management, now, the University has taken a lead in providing guidance and support services to NBA and NAAC aspiring technical institutes so that they can match with the quality parameters required for NBA and NAAC accreditation, Vice Chancellor added.
