Chandigarh, April 5 – The Haryana Cabinet, which held its meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, here today, approved the framing of “The Haryana Jail (Group-C) Services Rules, 2022” by repealing ‘The Punjab Jails Department State Services (Class III Executive) Rules, 1963 which is existing with the same title.
In the existing rules there is provision for the recruitment of Warder age criteria is 25 to 45 years, in proposed rules provision is made 18 to 25 years and 21 to 27 for Assistant Superintendent Jails on the police pattern.
In order to provide more promotion avenues, the existing provision of 75% to the direct recruitment of the Assistant Superintendent Jail is substituted with 50%. Accordingly 50% provision is made from promotion from Sub Assistant Superintendent Jail to Assistant Superintendent Jail.
The approved proposal also eliminates the criteria of five years of mandatory police experience for recruitment as warder along with 100% provision made for promition as Sub Assistant Superintendent jail amongst Head Warders in the interest of Administration.
