The State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana caught Sub Inspector, Vijender Kumar, State Crime Branch, Hisar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from Sh. Dharampal, resident of village Kahanewala, Tehsil Sardulgarh, District Mansa, Punjab.

- Chandigarh, June 29: The State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana caught Sub Inspector, Vijender Kumar, State Crime Branch, Hisar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from Sh. Dharampal, resident of village Kahanewala, Tehsil Sardulgarh, District Mansa, Punjab.
- Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson of the Bureau said that a case under section 420,467, 468,471,120B IPC was under investigation with SI Vijender Singh. He was demanding a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from complainant Dharampal in lieu of removing the name of the latter from the case. The complainant informed the State Vigilance Bureau in this regard and requested to take action against the said Sub Inspector.
- The spokesperson said that after receiving the information, a case under section 7 PC Act was registered in Police Station, SVB, Hisar. A team headed by Inspector Dharambir, SVB, Hisar was constituted.
- He further informed that Sh. Kartar Singh, BDPO, Hisar-I and Sh. Sandeep Kumar, Clerk, office of BDPO, Hisar-I were appointed as Duty Magistrate and Shadow witness, respectively.
- The team of SVB apprehended the Sub Inspector Vijender red-handed in the presence of Duty Magistrate and shadow witness while accepting bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the complainant. The accused is being interrogated thoroughly. The investigation of the case is in progress, informed the spokesman.
