Chandigarh, April 4 – While inaugurating the dream project of Indradhanush Auditorium of GVM Mahila College, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the daughters of families earning up to Rs. 1.80 lakh will be given free education till post graduation. Daughters of such families can either take education from Private Educational Institutions or from Government Institutions.

Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the government has set up one college within every radius of 20 kms area so that girl students do not have to go far for pursuing higher education. Till now 150 colleges have been established and where there is no facility, free bus passes up to 150 kms have been given to the girl students. He added that 150 special women buses have been made operational. He further said that no hindrance will be allowed in the education of girl students.

Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the daughters of Haryana have gained international fame, in which Smt. Sushma Swaraj is also a great example, in whose name the State Government has announced the Best Woman Award with a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakh. Giving the example of Kalpana Chawla, he said that daughters of our State have set new records in every field. He said that the sex ratio in the state earlier was 871 per 1000, whereas with combine efforts of everyone, the sex ratio has now touched the figure of 924. He further added that a target has been set to take the sex ratio towards the 950 mark. During the programme he announced a contribution of Rs. 21 lakh for the auditorium.

On this occasion, MP, Sh. Ramesh Kaushik also announced a donation of Rs. 11 lakh for the GVM organization. The students of the college gave beautiful presentations of cultural programmes. On this occasion, BJP State General Secretary and MLA, Rai, Sh. Mohanlal Badoli, MLA, Gannaur, Sh. Nirmal Chaudhary, MLA, Jind, Sh. Krishan Lal Middha, Former Minister, Smt. Kavita Jain, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Lalit Siwach, Police Superintendent, Sh. Rahul Sharma, Head of the Institution, Dr. OP Paruthi, including dignitaries were present.
