- Chandigarh, June 14: While once again reiterating his commitment of ensuring Paperless, Faceless and Transparent governance, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today launched ‘Local Bodies Vikas Nidhi Portal’. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Singh Chautala and Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Anil Vij were also present on this occasion.
- The Chief Minister launched the portal while presiding over the meeting with the officers of the Finance Department, Urban Local Bodies Department, State Finance Commission, and Development Panchayat Department held here today. Municipal Commissioners also attended the meeting through video conferencing.
- The Haryana Government has constituted the Inter-District Council (IDC) to strengthen the Local Bodies in terms of their financial and functional empowerment. In this direction ‘Local Bodies Vikas Nidhi Portal’ designed and developed on the principle of ‘Purav Yojana Purn Yoajna’ by the Finance Department in consultation with Departments concerned.
- The Chief Minister was apprised that this portal will facilitate the transfer of funds as per needs of local bodies in a transparent manner by the Finance Department in coordination and consultation with Development and Panchayats Department, Urban Local Bodies Department and Local Bodies concerned.
- The Chief Minister was apprised that the portal will further strengthen the monitoring mechanism, timely utilization of funds meant for development activities as well as committed expenditure of the local bodies. Further, as the portal is dynamic in nature, new features to facilitate the trekking of flow of funds to the end-user, overlapping of development activities, non-parking of funds in bank accounts by local bodies etc will be added in due course.
- The Chief Minister while directing the officers concerned said that priority should be given to the works being carried out under sustainable development goals. Besides this, the officers of Urban Local Bodies should make the budgetary provisions, as per the works and demands raised on the Gram Darshan Portal village wise, directed the Chief Minister.
- On this occasion, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D. S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Sh. Amit Jha, Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. S. N. Roy, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. T.V.S.N. Prasad, Director General, Development and Panchayats Department, Sh. R. C. Bidhan, Director, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Ashok Kumar Meena and other senior officers were present. Chairman, 6th State Finance Commission, Sh. P. Raghavendra Rao attended the meeting through video conferencing.
