• Chandigarh, July 6:  While taking forward Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s vision of adopting zero tolerance and transparently providing government services, Haryana Right to Service Commission has recommended the State Government to bring  53 services being provided by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP) under the purview of essential services.
• Besides this, the Commission has also recommended the State Government rationalize the time limit prescribed for various services.
• Sharing more details in this regard, Chief Commissioner of the Commission, Sh. T.C.  Gupta said that this decision was taken in the 36th meeting held on July 5, 2021.   The work done by the Commission during the month of May and June was also reviewed in the meeting.
• He said that it has come to the notice of the Commission that at present 16 services have been notified by HSVP.  However, 53 services are shown on its website.  The commission has recommended the government to notify all these 53 services.
• Sh. T.C Gupta said that there is also a need to rationalize the time limit notified for services as this time frame dates back to the era when services were provided manually.  But now that services are being provided online, they should also be made practical.
• Giving the example of acceptance of building plan, Sh. T.C Gupta said that 30 days time limit has been notified for approval of the building plan but in the case of residential buildings only three days time limit is shown on the HSVP website.
• The Chief Commissioner said that the Commission would work to ensure that the services provided by various departments under the Right to Service Act are available to the general public within the stipulated time frame.  Also, this time frame is made practical, he added.
• He said that the number of services being provided under the Act will also be increased.
• Referring to the ambitious target of the Commission, he said that the number of services being provided under the Act will be increased from 551 to 1000 by the end of this year.
• Commission would not only ensure timely service delivery but also make the public aware of the services so  that they could know their rights and demands, said Sh. T.C Gupta.
