- Taking this spirit a step further, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, two days Annapurna Utsav is being celebrated in Haryana on August 18 and 19, during which free of cost 5 kg wheat would be provided to about 1.21 crore people of the state.
- Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, while distributing ration to the beneficiaries under this scheme on the occasion of Annapurna Utsav at Ambala Cantonment today, said that Annapurna Utsav in the state, work is being done to distribute ration at 10,000 fair price shops. The work of distributing this ration will be done at 360 fair price shops in Ambala district.
- Haryana Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, while addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest at Annapurna festival held in Ballabhgarh today, said that under the Pardhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana five kg wheat per person would be given to poor families on August 18 and 19 in all government depots. Under this scheme, wheat will be given to nine lakh beneficiaries of two lakh ration card holders in district Faridabad.
- He said that the Annapurna Utsav has been started under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi in the country and the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is ensuring to successfully take this Utsav forward in Haryana.
- Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P. Dalal while speaking during the district level Annapurna Utsav programme held in Loharu today that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is an ambitious and big scheme for poor families and the government is working in the spirit of Antyodaya to ensure its benefits reaches every needy person.
- On this occasion, Sh. Dalal while distributing ration in bags to the eligible families said that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is a unique scheme for poor people. The Agriculture Minister said that the present State government is farmer-friendly. The government has identified one lakh poor families to ensure their economic upliftment hence making their lives prosperous and happy.
- Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. Om Prakash Yadav, while inaugurating the Annapurna Utsav at Narnaul today, distributed 5 kg and 10 kg wheat bags to the beneficiaries.
- He said that every citizen should eat full food and no citizen should sleep hungry, for this purpose Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has been started.
- The Minister said that there would be celebrations on both days at all the 290 ration depots in the district. Nodal officers have been appointed at every depot so that there is no problem in the festival, he added.
- Minister of State for Archaeological Museum and Labor Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak, inaugurated the two-day Annapurna Utsav in Hisar today and distributed free of cost wheat bags to the eligible people.
- The Minister of State said that free of cost wheat bags would be distributed to 2.40 lakh families and 8.27 lakh beneficiaries through 708 ration depots set up in the district.
