Sulah constituency to have new electricity board Division

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today dedicated and laid foundation stones of various developmental projects worth Rs. 234.24 crores in Sulah constituency of Kangra district. Addressing a huge gathering at Nagni, Chief Minister said this was for the first time in the history of Sulah segment that at one go projects costing over Rs. 234 crores were either being dedicated or laid foundation stones of. He inaugurated 26 projects worth Rs. 78.36 crores which included Mangehar-Peera road (Rs.1.97 crores), Bhawarwa-Henja road (1.03 crores), Duhak-Garthun road (2.05 crores), Thural-Bhatti-Lahad-Pangh road (2.19 crores), Bhawarna-Thandol road(Rs. 2.51), Dheera-Devi Tilla road (10.93 crores), Fared- Thamba road( 3.68 crores), Thural-Challah road(9.45 crores), Thandol-Tahndol via Shri Lanka road (1.09 crores), Saloh-Raipur road (3.17 crores), Neugal khud bridge over Sulah-Jajjar-Parour road(Rs. 4.52 crores), upgradation of Menjha- upper menjha road(2.06 crores), bridge over Tahal khud(Rs.2.72 crores), bridge over Sukkad khud( 2.16 crores), bridge over Parla khud(Rs. 1.62 crores), foot bridge near senior secondary school Bhawarna(Rs. 69 lacs), Arts block of Maharaja Sansar Chand Memorial College Thural (5.18 crores), science block of government degree college Noura(5.02 crores), additional block of government senior secondary school Dehan(Rs. 2.33 crores), additional building  of science block in senior secondary school Bhawarana (Rs.1.33 crores), lift water supply scheme for Bhadgwar,Sihol, Bhawarna Khas, Arth Chanjehar villages(Rs.3.95 crores), lift water supply scheme for Kural, Sihota and Marhoon panchayats(Rs.2.44 crores), lift irrigation scheme for Rouda Dhatti and adjoining villages(Rs. 1.76 crores), lift irrigation scheme Marhoon(Rs. 1.96 crores), lift irrigation scheme Kural (Rs.1.36 crores) and lift irrigation scheme Pudwa(Rs. 1.19 crores).

Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones of various 25 developmental works to be completed at the cost of Rs.155.86 crores in Sulah constituency. Foundation stones laid by Jai Ram Thakur include Rs. 30.37 crore Polytechnical college building of Sulah, Rs.1.21 crores block primary education office building Thural, Rs.1.15 crores additional block of Government senior secondary school Marhoon, Rs.1.15 crores additional block of Government senior secondary school Kiyarwan, Rs. 11.79 crores ITI building at Rajhun, Rs. 3.38 crores bridge over Moul khud, Rs. 3.76 crores Duhak- Tikri- Rakha- Dhabi road, Rs. 6.71 crores bridge over Tahl khud, Rs. 6.02 crores modern library building at police training centre Daroh, Rs. 8.50 crores mini forensic laboratory Daroh, Rs.12.32 crores multiple purpose outdoor stadium Daroh, Rs. 3.84 crores residential accommodation, Rs. 33.59 crores lift water supply scheme for Kangen, Thambu and surrounding villages, Rs. 12.03 crores augmentation of Thural- Bharanta lift water supply scheme, Rs. 4.05 crores lift water supply scheme for Nanoun, Kakrain and Pantehad panchayats, Rs. 3.95 crores Jharet, Rajhun, Parour Kharet water supply distribution scheme, Rs. 1.52 crores lift water supply scheme for Rouda panchayat, Rs. 96 lacs lift water supply scheme for Patbog and Linjha, Rs. 85 lacs lift water supply scheme for Jangehad, Maile and Mundi Khas, Rs. 2.60 crores flood protection work for Ghaneta panchayat, Rs. 1.61 crores Khaira lift irrigation scheme, Rs. 1.41 crores Kathul gravity irrigation scheme, Rs. 1.27 crores Batul gravity irrigation scheme, Rs. 92 lacs Sanuh lift irrigation scheme and Rs. 90 lacs Buk gravity irrigation scheme.

Chief Minister while speaking about the COVID-19 pandemic and steps taken by the Centre Government to deal with such world-wide threat said the strategies adopted by the Centre had deepened the trust of people of all walks of life in the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also lauded the efforts of various departments and pro-active approach of Himachali people for achieving top ranking in vaccination drives.

According the top priority of the State for the welfare of poor and weaker sections of society, Chief Minister said present Government in its first cabinet meeting gave approval to reduce the age limit from 80 to 70 years for old age pension. Now, it has been reduced to 60 years by the Government with a view to benefit all needy and eligible persons. Himcare Yojna has proved to be a very effective helping hand in health care. Similarly, SAHARA Yojna has also become a healing touch for those suffering from serious ailments. Under the Yojna, the patient is provided with Rs.3000 every month. Nearly 100 crores of rupees have been spent so far, Chief Minister added. Terming the role of employees in the all-round  growth of state as forerunner, he said the Government has implemented the recommendations of Pay Commission for ensuring the welfare of employees of the state. He also detailed the increase in daily-wage and honorarium to various categories including ASHA workers who played a significant role in pandemic. He also said that the electricity consumers will have to pay nothing up to consumption of 60 units. Under the Mukhya Mantri Shagun Yojna, now financial help of Rs.31000 would be provided.

Chief Minister said that Sulah Assembly segment has now emerged with various infrastructural and institutional developments. He also announced opening of new division of electricity board at Nagni-Marhoon, construction of bridge over Neugal khud, pening of health sub centre at Samba, developing the nature park under Asian Development Bank project at Menjha, starting of science classes in senior secondary schools of  Duhak, Drang and Dhati, setting up of Nasha Mukti Kendra in Sulah, opening of new office of block primary education officer in Sulah, starting of science classes in Maharaja Sansar Chand memorial  government degree college Sulah, naming of government degree college Noura after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Chief Minister also said that temporary police posts at Dheera and Thural would now be permanent to facilitate the people of the areas. He said industrial training institute Gadhjamula would now be a model ITI. Achhru da Bharo-Chambi- Cheedan road would also be named after Subedar Genda Ram Chaudhary  who had constructed the 18-km long link road with his own endeavors.

While welcoming the Chief Minister, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar  thanked Jai Ram Thakur for dedicating various developmental projects to the people of Sulah and laying the foundation stones of worth over 155 crores. He said Sulah Assembly constituency has been witnessing huge development for the last over 4 years. Various projects and schemes of Jal Shakti Vibhag  worth Rs.275 crores are also under progress in Sulah constituency, he said.

During the function, Principals and Headmasters Association presented a cheque of Rs. 101000 to Chief Minister towards CM relief fund while Principal government senior secondary sacool Daroh presented a cheque of Rs. 21000 towards CM relief fund.

MP Kangra parliamentary constituency Kishan Kapoor, MLA Baijnath Mulakh Raj Premi, MLA Nagrota Arun Kumar, MLA Jaisinghpur Ravinder Dhiman, Chairman Wool Federation Trilok Kapoor, Chairman, Kangra Central Co-operative bank Dr Rajiv Bhardwaj,  former MLAs Praveen Sharma and  Dulo Ram, Chairman Zila Parishad Ramesh Barad, District president BJP Chander Bhushan Nag and Hari Dutt Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal, media coordinator Vishav Chakshu were also present on the occasion among others.
