Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Nirmala Sitharaman Union Finance Minister in North Block at New Delhi today.
Chief Minister urged the Union Minister to enhance import duty on apple to benefit the apple growers of the state. He said that apples from other countries is coming into Indian market and affecting the apple economy of the state.
He also requested for extending Industrial Development Subsidy Scheme for two more years and added that the scheme is closing during the current year.
Chief Minister also requested for Special Central Assistance for construction of Mandi airport. He also requested for enhanced Central Special Assistance to Himachal.
He also detailed the Union Minister about the focus on women empowerment schemes during the Budget presented for coming financial year.
Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh gave valuable inputs about state’s demands.
Union Finance Minister assured the Chief Minister of all possible help to the state.
